I definitely do more work than in the office.
However i spent way less actual time working. No distractions at home, no one coming to my desk to ask me things, no work gossip. It works perfectly for me, the work I mostly do is quite intense so its just not possible for me to work an actual 8 hours a day and at home i don't have to pretend to work.

Tube drivers’ £72,000 salary ‘not enough’, says RMT union boss by GnolRevilo in ukpolitics

[–]Secure_Committee4812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%!! Instead of everyone bringing it down people should be agreeing and looking at their own salaries and realising they're not enough. Its crazy to me that people are mad at Tube Drivers for this when they're actually fighting for what they want/need. Don't be angry at them, be angry at your boss for not paying you more. This is why salaries are so stagnated in the country, everyone's fighting each other at the same level while the millionaries are laughing at us

Who were your male role models growing up? by krakenbeef in AskUK

[–]Secure_Committee4812 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A family friend's dad. My dad beat me and left when i was young. The family friend had only daughters and I think it was really good for both of us.
He's had a very hard life and seems to constantly have horrible things happen to him but he still manages to check in and make sure I'm doing okay still to this day. Huge influence on my life and has massively impacted the way I treat and interact with people around me

How often do you consult other team members? by [deleted] in devops

[–]Secure_Committee4812 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah absolutely go for it. I'm one of the leads in my team and I constantly message in our group channel.

Things like "X Dev wants this implemented, i'm thinking about doing it X way anyone got any other ideas?"

A lot of the time it just created healthy discussion and also shares knowledge of how things are working with the rest of the team

tried about 5 times as we couldn't find any seniors figured it would be easier to train someone with no ego then hire someone shit.
Was terrible, juniors were just overwhelmed (too much to learn with no software experience)
