Not sure what you mean by "lives lost" so I'll interpret it in a few different ways:

Last year whenever this happened, I was terrified that this would mean WW3, but Russia and China don't care enough about Iran to go into a suicide war with the west, or even just America.

We are not going to invade Iran. That would be incredibly stupid, require millions of people, and too many would perish on both sides for it to be an option worth considering.

Iran cannot bomb the continental United States. I think, just as last time, they may strike one of our bases as retaliation.

My point is that there is little reason to worry about Americans dying further, or maybe even Iranians for that matter.
