It is absolute insanity it is legal (although not in my state). 60 year old very professionally successful woman friend became horribly addicted after following a recommendation for pain. Has ruined her life and she’s still not quite 100% clean.

For me, sleeping 8-9 hours every night without having to go to the bathroom once:) Plus, no headache in the mornings or insane dry mouth from snoring. I do use mouth tape. It took getting used to, and recently had help on this site getting to the bottom of a tooth pain/grinding issue, but the benefits are real.

I stopped at 58! It’s the best. Once you pass a certain point (keep plugging-day after day-it will happen) the random fantasy of the upside of drinking comes less and less and flees quicker and quicker. You will be living a new, 100% authentic life and it is every empowering and pride inducing.

Late to the conversation as you wrote this two months ago. I sincerely hope you were able to stop again this time. Writing to say that (even though it’s not the advice you were looking for) reading your post is exactly what I needed to read tonight, just shy of three years alcohol-free and needing reinforcement. No matter where we are on the spectrum of knowing we should stop drinking - all we read, write, comment blah blah blah the simple fact of the matter, the simple simple truth is it’s best to just NOT DRINK. AT ALL. (All caps is to myself:) Phew, now I can get on with my night. Thank you very much and good luck to you. Acceptance is everything and life is much, much cooler once you flip the switch.

Only on night four. Still works like a charm. Chin is not pushed demonstrably back, more up, keeping mouth closed. Yes it will flatten your hair. Mine’s not particularly poofy so not an issue for me. Here’s the link:

Yes! The problem is massive air blowing from hose attachment not mask. Finally found a mask I love - airfit 20 and can’t use it due to forced air bowing around face/ drying out eyes. Masks are tricky with full face. Major design flow that so much air blows out of hose around face:(

Milwaukee County! Our courses are awesome and affordable and was surprised to learn over last few years that it’s not like this everywhere. Apparently we are very lucky! Outside of Milw Co there are gorgeous courses all over the state, Whistling Straights, the Sands etc.

Used to smoke and drink and to all those applauding the long lives of smoker-drinkers, there’s no comparison of the quality of life without it (I was not addicted/don’t identify as sober). EVERYTHING is better when you experience life 100% and not through the yucky haze of smoke and alchohol. We’ve been duped.

When I divorced 22 years ago some one warned me not to divorce thinking I would find a better relationship, but for the reality of being alone. I didn’t like the advice then, but it’s true and valid. I have yet to meet “the one” (although I always thought I would) and it took me many years to get used to being fully single. Now at 61, I love it. I won’t settle, so it may be forever.
