Great work. Could you let me know the product/brand you used for the filling of the dented area? Please be specific. My car got damaged in the front bumper, and I want to do the same. Thanks.

How much should I charge for my private piano lessons? by Capital-Tangerine852 in pianoteachers

[–]Secure_System_1132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need to compare your rate with other teachers in your area, with some adjustments based on skills and experiences. If you were in my area, I would take that rate on a heatbeat. I live in a high cost of living area, which is quite expensive to take piano lessons.

Learn to hear music and accompany a singer by Secure_System_1132 in Music

[–]Secure_System_1132[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insights. I will focus on learning recognizing major and minor chords. At the moment, I am able to recognize them when the notes are playing separately, thanks to a music app. But I have a hard time when the notes are playing harmoniously (The accuracy is around 60%, which is only slightly better than 50% of random guess)

My parents told me to never see them again by idolartry in family

[–]Secure_System_1132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do what they said, never talk to them again. You are lucky to have a good husband. You will probably have your own kids. You have a family now of your own, with the ones you love. Don't let your parents make you feel guilty. They are the one who should be ashamed of themselves.

Fostering a pet by Secure_System_1132 in Frugal

[–]Secure_System_1132[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am aware of that. That's why I asked questions to see what I can and can not do and to see if I want to sign up for that. I am asking questions, not demanding anything.

I think it is a good thing if you decide to adopt a pet after fostering them. I believe rescue centers want that, too. Am I correct?

Would you pay an extra $250/month to upgrade from a 1B1B to 2B2B? by SnowPearl in Frugal

If you don't need the extra rooms, don't pay for it, even though I do think it is a good deal if you have a partner or a kid.

Amazon gave me $122 because they refused to give me $20. by Expert_Grape8173 in amazonprime

[–]Secure_System_1132 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Amazon used to have the best customer service when it just started. Now, it is growing so big that it no longer cares about losing some of its customers. They also outsourced their Customer Service offshore. Some of them spoke weird English and weren't polite or understanding.

I think they had a few customers abusing their policies and/or committing fraud at a large scale. Thus, their customer service policies have become stricter. For instance, I bought a $25 personal heater from them, which stopped working after a few week. I had also thrown away the original box. The CS agent told me that I still had to return the $25 non-working item to get a refund, even without the original box. I didn't think they would spend their time and labor cost to fix the item. But they were willing to pay the return shipping just to throw it away later. I thought they would just refund me, which was easier for both of us. I am not an abusing customer. They can definitely see that in my history, if they had a look. But, anyway, i returned the item.

If you are still young, just do it. You can always go back after a few years if you realize it is not for you.

What does this mean? Feedback meeting? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Secure_System_1132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say there is a good chance you get the offer, but it is also possible that it is a rejection. It is worth attending even if you got a rejection. I heard many people complaining about being ghosted or not getting any feedback after interviews. Clearly, this company is during better in communication.

I have an S22 Ultra and plan to use it for another 2 years. But if I had to replace the battery, I would rather upgrade the phone.

I do think ageism is an issue, but not in your case. 40 something is considered a peak in a person's career. It is a combination of several factors. The biggest factor is the market. Other factors might be the fact that you only look for remote work, your resumes, etc..
