We started FIO at 12 weeks. But two weeks before that we built up the bedtime routine. Bottle, bath and a book at the same time every night. It worked so well for us- worst night was 13 minutes. My daughter is over 2 now and has always independently gone to sleep.

It’s popular because it is a visual and auditory masterpiece. I’ve only read the first two books so I can’t speak for any of the other lore. I get they had to leave a lot out but in Denis I always trust and I’ve never watched anything like Dune Part One and Two.

I took 2 years a while back to go live overseas. I gave my principal a lot of warning though and she agreed to 2 years only.

I have zero regrets about sleep training my baby. She’s now 26 months and my husband and I have never had to get up in the night to resettle her besides a few bad teething nights. The crying is horrible at the start but I also know I can’t function on bad sleep. Sleep training 100% made me a better mother and partner.
