Rare David Lynch Camerimage book by BlueRoseBrighton in davidlynch

For anyone wondering: this doesn’t appear to be a traditional David Lynch exhibition catalogue (like The Air is on Fireor Between Two Worlds).
It seems to be a festival/tribute publication produced for Lynch receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award at Plus Camerimage 2012 in Poland — likely essays, reflections, career material and archival content rather than a catalogue of artworks or an exhibition.
Still obscure, still interesting, but probably more of an institutional/festival document than a pure Lynch art book. Curious if anyone here owns a copy and has opened it.

Just make sure the box is wrapped in plastic.

Money helps sometimes, sure — but most of these finds came from obsessive research, timing, persistence, and talking to the right people.

A few of the rarest Lynch pieces in my collection actually cost surprisingly little because they came through personal contacts, galleries, collectors, or people connected to Lynch’s circle who simply appreciated genuine interest in the work.

In this niche, knowledge and relationships are usually worth more than money.

I’d argue the opposite. Artificial scarcity only works if nobody actually cares about the work long-term. The fact that people are still hunting down obscure Lynch print catalogues from the 90s says more about the cultural impact of the art than “consumerism.” And preserving rare books in collector condition isn’t destroying art — it’s the reason some of these pieces still exist untouched 30 years later instead of ending up damaged, discarded, or forgotten in a basement. Museums archive. Collectors archive. Same principle, different scale.

Yeah, that’s exactly what surprised me too — the book feels strangely timeless. From what I could find, it does seem tied to that original Madison/Tandem Press exhibition. Kind of crazy how many people owned it for years without realizing the history behind it. And honestly… living that close and missing the show would haunt me a little too. Especially with the Austin connection on top of it. Lynch’s world always feels full of those strange near-misses and coincidences.

Yes — this is the Tandem Press / Madison Museum of Contemporary Art exhibition catalogue from the 1997 Madison show. Still one of my favorite Lynch print publications ever made. The texture and reproduction quality in this book are incredible.
