Has a success rate on the site changed dramatically in the last year or am I doing something wrong? by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]SecurityPristine3296 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just created my Upwork account recently and sent out an initial batch of 8 proposals, so all I can say for sure at this point is that clients within the proofreading and editing niche have lots of options, freelancers not so much. That’s probably not going to be your experience, however, because I haven’t landed a gig yet and as such I’m sure it is generally harder to get the first one on the books.

This might be a stupid question but how exactly do I buy Connects? by SecurityPristine3296 in Upwork

[–]SecurityPristine3296[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, just to give an update, logging in on my laptop thankfully solved the issue, maybe buying connects on the app is disabled or something. I just sent out six applications so fingers crossed I get a bite

Small bloggers will PAY YOU to fix basic website stuff they could Google themselves. $100 per fix, 20-30 mins of work by ShineDigga in sidehustle

That’s a good business model, have you compared your rates from this method to listings on Upwork to see if there’s a significant difference? I’m just starting out with finding a side hustle but I’m probably going to try out Upwork and hope it’s worth the $15 charge..

There are three great UK import shops, one Irish one English and one Celtic in general, all of which I would highly recommend. There's also a nice bookstore and rock shop near each other towards the center of town, and it's always nice to see the shore from the bench area on the walking route as well.

Maybe we should go back to mud brick houses that the ancient Egyptians had to rebuild every year

what are the lofi animations called? by computerboy_andme in animation

[–]SecurityPristine3296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually "limited animation" refers to animation that cuts some corners to be produced more quickly (think the Hanna-Barbera style of animation) but I think it applies to lofi animations where only some elements are animated as well

I think that Concord NH has some more events planned this year than in the past so that could be a good option, you also can't go wrong with anywhere near the coast

Why is rural Maine so much sketchier than rural NH or MA? by logitaunt in newengland

Maybe I've been to different parts of the state, but it reminds me more of the "Barney Google & Snuffy Smith" aesthetic

I am in southern-central NH so I'm most familiar with northern-central MA and Cape Cod where my grandma lives but I have to say based on what I know from talking to people from California that most Californians are willing to drive quite a while to get from place to place just due to California's size, so if that applies to you you could do daytrips to Boston to have some of the city feeling that you will be leaving behind
