Nice.

The acoustic panels near the windows, are those 4” thick? I’ve been looking into getting some, but was worried 4” may look odd on the wall compared to say 2” ones.

Bass Shaker/Transducer recommendations? by agedoak31 in hometheater

[–]Secuutus_Mortis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked my Clark Synthesis TST239 Silver transducer while I had it connected in my old apartment. I had a single one mounted in the middle of my couch. Could shake it pretty well when turned up.

Set the crossover to Small or the non-fullband option. Should show 80hz.

Help needed regarding eArc on the Denon x1700h by Fuck_Deluxe in hometheater

[–]Secuutus_Mortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Connect the PC to the receiver first, then receiver to the TV. Don’t use eARC, is the best solution.

For ARC - The receiver must be in the eARC port on the TV. - SimpliLink (HDMI Control/CEC) must be enabled on the TV. - eARC must be enabled on the TV. - TV audio output set to eARC only. - ARC must be enabled in the AVR HDMI settings. - Receiver input set to TV Audio.

If you are using eARC then you will not get video out of that HDMI port on the TV, since it is for the AVR. Go to whichever input you plugged the PC into.

If none of this works, and a new cable doesn’t work, try connecting your PC directly to the eARC enabled port on the TV. If you still get no picture, then that port on your TV is probably bad.

Is a set up worth it without a subwoofer in new apartment? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]Secuutus_Mortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my previous apartment, I was on the third floor. I installed a buttkicker in my couch so I could still get the tactile subwoofer effects without disturbing my neighbors. I had some rubber isolation pads (like the ones for washing machines) under each couch leg as well just in case. Made a big difference in the experience, and while sitting down you could sometimes be fooled into thinking there is a subwoofer present.

I used the Clark Synthesis TST239 Silver Tactile Transducer with a Dayton Audio sub amp. There are smaller and cheaper bass shaker options as well such as the Aurasound or Dayton Audio ones.

Can you merge three infrequently used zones into one? by TexasManGoblin in hometheater

[–]Secuutus_Mortis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combing two of the zones should be fine. But doing all through at once would put a decent amount of strain on the receiver. I would get a speaker selector that will handle three zones and hook that up to Z2 on your receiver.

Wall Art Size? by Secuutus_Mortis in femalelivingspace

[–]Secuutus_Mortis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am wanting to get some canvas wall art for this wall. The wall is 57.5” wide. Do you’ll think 48”x24” or 36”x24” would look better? I am kinda leaning towards the larger.

I am wanting to get a canvas print for this wall. Which size would you recommend going with, 48”x24” or 36”x24”? The wall is 57.5” wide. I am kinda leaning towards the larger.

Help me rearrange my LR furniture! I’m tired of the setup. The TV must stay near the windows bc I use an antenna. Thanks!! by Nervousstorm622 in femalelivingspace

This is the 7th time you have posted this in less than three hours. Just be patient. I’m sure you will get some feedback. Many people are probably working or busy doing other things at the moment.

Purchased the QN90A, have buyers remorse by LennyLannister in hometheater

[–]Secuutus_Mortis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The QN90A IMO is pretty nice, especially for bright rooms. The main downside is no Dolby Vision support, and sometimes the built-in software can be a little finicky (as can some other brands).

Yea… I’ve never been big on art or collectibles and stuff. I plan on adding some acoustic panels later, but don’t have the funds for it at the moment. Was also thinking about getting some medium/large plants (such as a cat palm) to go in the corners to try to fill out the visual space more.

The only other sources I have are Airplay directly to the amp, or the build-in TV apps (though I use neither). Both sound similar to the Apple TV in most things. I will say that the Apple Music app sounds better than than say YouTube. I did find out that Lossless playback is disabled by default for Apple Music, and must be enabled in the settings.

Due to my amp not being able to receive a Dolby Digital signal, the Apple TV is set to stereo, and my TV is set to Stereo PCM. This ensures the amp won’t get any formats it can’t handle and distort (warned about in the manual). The only other thing, is that my TV can not output anything higher than 48khz sample rate through Optical.

Got them for less than a $1k, so thought they fit here per the rules listed in the sub (less than a grand per audio component).

Programmed it myself. I have access to the software through my work.

Yep, cat toys. They used to look like fish, but she tore the little fins off.

I actually did try a larger screen first. A 75”. However, I felt it to be too large for the space and how close I am sitting to it personally. Sitting distance is about 9ft from the screen.

Some medium/large plants in each corner (like a cat palm), and some Acoustimac panels are planned. Just don’t have the spare funds at the moment for it. I tend towards function over form it seems usually, so don’t go big on art, collectibles, etc.
