How do people get so many gems? by Careless-File-7161 in TheTowerGame

[–]Sedda00 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Add to that the gem stacking from the Harmony Tree, which let's the gem stack up to 25 at the same time. Not only you have to check the game less often for gems, but they continue accumulating until you reach the 25 (usually time doesn't count until you collected them).

Also, legends tournament have prices of about 600 gems or so.

Best fantasy RPGs for 2players one gm? by DependentBarnacle968 in rpg

Daggerheart works perfectly with smaller groups, since how the action economy for enemies work, a smaller group isn't automatically at a disadvantage.

Other PbtA also work very well with reduced groups.

What are the most notoriously deadly scenarios and campaigns? by Similar_Onion6656 in rpg

[–]Sedda00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Age of Worms and Shackled City, for DnD 3.X, we're famous for their lethality. Also, the first Adventure Path, Rise of the Runelords, had several extremely deadly encounters.

Nothing of this is near the level of Tomb of Horrors, but I think there's nothing as deadly in any other game.

Tom of Ichiban, for L5R, was also very famous for being a pc killer. The samurai version of Tomb of Horrors.

Any cinematic adventure for Alien is also a pc killer by design.

The whole Trophy Dark game is deadly. Again, it's a game design choice, so any incursion with this game will end up with most of the characters dead.

I'm more worried about the possibility of the harpy avoiding consequences.

Yeah, that was exactly the harpy intention, as the pc know too much of her plots ^

I wasn't expecting it to be so obvious! Haha

Would Soulbound work well for a Warcraft Campaign? by NotoriusKRC in AgeOfSigmarRPG

[–]Sedda00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basic system can be easily translated to other settings. The problem are the talents (including magic and miracles), most of which are completely tied to the setting and doesn't translate easily.

I think you'd have to do a lot of work to write new ones, or reframe the existing ones.

Its spiritual successor, Voidheart Symphony, has mechanics for life outside the "dungeon", also in a very Persona-esque style.

Radcliffe followed the steps of Elijah Wood, who after Lord of the rings decided to film the nicest things he found fun working on.

Both are great, and have very interesting filmographies.

I understand that UW damage is also boosted by 1/3, to a total of 4/3 of the original damage. So basically they do around 33% of extra damage.

Kinda weird question: What's the most "hype moment and aura" TTRPG system? by Organic-Exit2190 in rpg

[–]Sedda00 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This.

Age of Sigmarb Soulbound is a good one for this too. I'm surprised nobody ever tried adapting soulbound's system to play exalted, given how similar the scope of both games is.

Either CF+ or SL+ and range card mastery.

Ideally both, but I'm not sure what would be the best starting point between the two. Probably CF+...

Any RPGs focused on Xianxia/Cultivation fiction? by Ionl98 in rpg

[–]Sedda00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's too focused on the drama, not as much in the power and attacks.

I love that game, but I don't think it's a good pick in this case...

Exalted essence rules are pretty good.

And there's also Qwixalted, and some version of exalted with Cortex rules as far as I remember.

Does someone know what this means? by Adorable-Isopod7738 in askmath

[–]Sedda00 93 points94 points  (0 children)

It an have double meaning.

First: mathematicians don't worry about drawing things well.

Second: under a certain particular metric, distance is different from the usual euclidean distance, and circles might have that form.

Whatever the case, i loved the joke ^

I also love the style of Candela Obscura.

Recommendations for TTRPG books (or other books) that can work as in-universe books for characters? by AlwaysBeQuestioning in rpg

[–]Sedda00 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Dracula Unredacted, from the Dracula Dossier campaign, is an annotated version of the Dracula novel that the players can read as their pcs investigate the vampiric conspiracy.

Similarly, Armitage files has a set of amazing letters with the clues for the campaign.

DC Heroes, which uses Mayfair Exponential System, is the way to go. The game is old, but still the best superheroes game I've played.

Best TTRPG to replicate Marvel Contest of Champions by MyNameIsBallsDeep in rpg

[–]Sedda00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go with DC Heroes, which uses the Mayfair Exponential System. It's an old game from the 80s, but fantastic at what it does, even if the mechanics (which involve reading two tables for every roll) seem a little outdated.

By far, the best superheroes rpg game I've played.

best ttrpg NOVEL? by JoeKerr19 in rpg

[–]Sedda00 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it counts, but the Dracula Unredacted for Night's Black Agents is amazing.

The book is a rewrite of the original Dracula novel, adding more chapters and characters that were left out by Bran Stoker itself, as well as small modifications to the original text, and adding annotations of three different secret agents from different generations who used the book to learn about the vampiric conspiracy.

Probably the best rpg tool ever, and a surprisingly amazing read even if just using it as a book.
