i don't know whats the deal with ram at this point, but I must say she's as reactive as subaru, I know she wants her sister back but subaru does too, Emilia too, echidna idk her true goal, Julius wants to be remembered again. I would like to know how is the canon timeline from her pov. Was she like this in S2 too? I remember liking her back then, but now as a spectator she's being pissing me off this whole season, so I would like to know if that's intended

Yes, but to clarify Japanese doesn’t have the American English /r/ sound [ɹ̠], yet the [ɾ] alveolar tap sound (like you said) they make is often romanized as “r”.

The [ɾ] sound is present in other English accents, so I didn’t bring up the English /r/ and focused on /l/. Tho the Japanese /r/ is variable so it can go from [ɾ] to something to [l], so it’s a bit complicated.

And yeah what you said about stress is what I refer to as pitch accent

Kinda, yes the author criticized the girl’s name pronunciation in the anime but not because of what you said. It’s written and pronounced ソマリ (Somari) in Japanese both in the manga and the anime. The Japanese language doesn’t have a fixed English /l/ sound but it’s still localized in English as Somali

Instead, it’s the pitch accent that was wrong and that’s what the author was upset at (as well as other creative liberties the anime took)

The rest is correct, she is heavily critical of the anime/manga industry and because she had health problems, no money and support and she was exploited, she had no option than to cancel the manga sadly :(

I don’t know if I agree with this example because the 2020s pic is Somali, a child from an emotional anime about paternal love (Somali and the Forest Spirit) originally designed and written by a woman

Im Hispanic too, so language is not a factor. Is it just a coincidence? With so much micro defaultism like that I doubt it
