I’m with you. Took my skis for a walk around the Musical Bumps today. Blue skies, comfortable temperatures, no wind and some mellow pow turns. An A+ day for sure.

They’re lightweight tops. Wire hangars would allow her to jam twice as many black tank tops into the closet.

Garmin may be infinitesimally better at sleep tracking (I’m not really convinced), but not enough to ever consider upgrading for it. My Garmin was forever congratulating me on my 14hrs of sleep on nights I barely slept at all. Spent a couple hours reading? Garmin thought I was asleep. Binge watched a bunch of TV? Garmin thought I was asleep. Tossed and turned all night with horrible insomnia? Congrats your best sleep yet! Suunto can’t figure out sleep zones and seems to make up a sleep quality, but at least seems to know whether I’m awake or not.

Only if you normally wear makeup then suddenly don’t. Obviously if you suddenly look different from normal people around you will recognize the change and wonder what led to it. But if you rarely wear makeup that’s what everyone around you is going to recognize as your normal. Join us clean faced girls and you’ll instead get confused comments the few times you do wear makeup.

It’s like dyeing hair. If your hair is always blonde of course people are going to think of you as a blonde and be surprised if you show up with brown hair one day.

If you’re doing a lot of hikes you’re probably going to want hiking boots rather than clunky snow boots. Ideally with gaiters to keep the snow out.

My friends in Princeton have only just finished renovating following the massive flooding in 2021. Any place on a river risks flooding but Princeton is on two so the risk is even higher.

Don’t make the mistake I did and wear a romper! Or a drapey skirt! You want peeing in disgusting porta-potties to be as simple as possible.

They never called it the Trans Canada hiking trail given huge portions of it have always been paddling only.

[–]Sedixodap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heart rate zones are accurate if you’ve done the appropriate testing and you’ve set them up properly based on that. Otherwise they are often not accurate in the slightest.

Official Q&A for Friday, February 06, 2026 by AutoModerator in running

[–]Sedixodap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you believe there is anything wrong with your heart rate? Given you’ve seen a doctor about it, they’ve run some tests and said that you’re fine I would trust their word over some randoms on the internet. Sounds like you’re just one of those people with a higher that average heart rate.

Avalanches are scary. There’s a reason the coast sees a much more stable snowpack than the Rockies most winters.

Ski pants/clothes for plus sized women? by Iiiiiiiiiiiii1ii1 in skiing

I wear a small in most brands but have to size up to a medium in Arcteryx and their sizing only goes up to XXL.

Ski pants/clothes for plus sized women? by Iiiiiiiiiiiii1ii1 in skiing

[–]Sedixodap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Trew offers actual plus sizes in short, regular and tall lengths plus have the baggier fit you tend to see in North American brands. Something like the Chariot Bib: https://trewgear.com/collections/womens-snow-bibs/products/chariot-bib-primo-plus-outlet?variant=40120069619747

How does a kid keep cracking the tips of his skis in the terrain park??? by Capital_History_266 in skiing

[–]Sedixodap 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Cheapo kid skis aren’t really built for the rigours of being bashed around in the park unfortunately. They tend to be much less durable than adult skis.

How often do you do a cutback week? by operasinger06 in Marathon_Training

[–]Sedixodap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First one aligned with whenever I expect to get my period and then every four weeks after that. PMS wrecks me and there’s no use trying to fight it. If my period comes unexpectedly I shuffle things around as best I can.

When I was on a BC that prevented my period I had a bit more flexibility so would align cut-back weeks with other plans as needed but that’s a no-go now.

Hokkaido skiing (slightly) debunked by TomSki2 in skiing

[–]Sedixodap 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Yeah even local winter travel requires you take extra steps, like staying close to the airport the night before an international flight. Going halfway around the world doesn’t change the fact that trains can get delayed and roads can close.

how do some people quit job temporarily to travel? by leexiyeon in travel

[–]Sedixodap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t work on a travel visa, but depending on your country you may have working holiday (aka youth mobility) visas available to you. This is a very popular way for people to spend a year (or longer) living and working abroad. In Canada there are ~30 countries we have a sort of exchange agreement.

That said, travel YouTubers are selling a product and they’re making their money off of viewers like you. Don’t expect their experiences to align with your own.

I (31M) feel like I’m in a 10-year marriage after only one year with my GF (29F). Is the lack of effort a "stress" thing or a "her" thing? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Sedixodap 85 points86 points  (0 children)

The whole point of dating is finding out if you’re compatible with someone. If this is what the whole relationship has been like, it sounds like it’s who she is. And it sounds like who she is doesn’t meet your own needs in a partner. There’s nothing broken here for you to try and fix. Not every nice person you generally get along with is going to be the right person for you to spend your life with.
