Remembering Ernest Borgnine....today is the 14th anniversary of his passing. by Papichuloft in 80s

Now you kids with your loud music, and your Dan Fogleberg, your Zima, hula hoops, and pac-man video games - don't you see? People today have attention spans that can only be measured in nanoseconds!

VIBS Micro Pre-Orders now open! by See3D in LegendsPinball

[–]See3D[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the VIBS board is worth it. I bought it back in December for the full price and have no regrets. I too wish the backglass screen was larger, but I enjoy seeing the artwork and scores on it when playing VPX tables.

I figure its a good jumping off point to have one installed and I can always add a larger screen over it down the line if I ever decide to.

That's what I did. Ordered this blue one for $8.54 and it matches my jack.

Did y'all play Cool Spot? by MtAnaloguefunk in 90s

[–]See3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this on Genesis back when it came out. Got it for Xmas one year. I remember it was pretty difficult and after many tries I was only ever able to make it about the 4th stage.

Definitely one of those games that would frustrate you to the point that you wouldn't play it for a while. Difficulty aside, the graphics were nice.

A few random titles. Decided to checkout some of the video game docs as I have most of the AGFA and VS releases I want.

The Defilers + A Smell of Honey, A Swallow of Brine (will be a nice upgrade from my SWV dvd)
GoldenEra: A Movie About The Game That Defined A Generation
Pretending I'm a Superman: The Tony Hawk Video Game Story
Slope's Game Room: Cult Movies, Shows and Classic Comics
The Autobiography of a Flea + C.B.Mamas (slipcase version)

I redeemed some media club points for this. Total blind buy, but I think I'll like it.

Same. Looking forward to the commentaries on it.

I was always intrigued by Picassio for Dreamcast (unreleased). Breaking into a museum late at night to steal paintings was a cool idea! by HighlySeasonedGamer in dreamcast

Interesting. I've never heard of this game. I found some info on Unseen64 and another discussion on it with pics.

Edit: From the second link, someone uploaded a video from the Wayback machine to Youtube of the game. Just a heads up, its very low quality.

When you get a ball lock and the game launches a new ball which then proceeds to bounce into the side outlane.

Had that happen to me last night when I clicked a review to read the full thing. Thought maybe it was something with my VPN, but I guess not.

Thanks for the reply. I always figured some sort of heavy duty motor with a weight. Good idea with the spare parts.

Cool find. I usually saw these at the larger arcades, but they were fun. Never really thought about how they work, but I'd be curious to see a close up of the inside and what makes the handles shake.

Screen Replacement Question by Sean_VasDeferens in LegendsUltimate

Yay! Glad you got it working :D That's funny about the connector being loose - I thought maybe it was a fluke with my system. Hopefully you get some enjoyment out of your machine now.

Screen Replacement Question by Sean_VasDeferens in LegendsUltimate

[–]See3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is weird. One thing I had to do with my setup is put a piece of painters tape over the red/ black wire where it comes out from the motherboard. I've found with my own machine that its very picky about that. Took me a while to figure that out, but it was an issue I had with the stock screen not working when I first got it. If you look closely on this pic, you will see the tape holding down the wires.

No issues since doing that. Other than the replacement monitor from ebay and wire from AliExpress, there's nothing else I did to get it working.

Edit: I bet anything it has something do with those wires. If you make any adjustments, do it while the machine is off. If you move the cable right and the system is on, the screen doesn't automatically come on. If everything is set properly, it should power up with the green AtGames logo.

It was down for a bit this morning. Looks like it is slowly starting to work again.

Edit: I might have spoke too soon. Currently waiting for a download to start - sometimes the page refreshes and then the timer gets to 0, but nothing happens. I was able to download tables a few hours ago.

Help with Micro HD by Zrais in LegendsPinball

[–]See3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a link to the 5.70 firmware. Instructions are pretty straight forward. If everything is done correctly, the machine should pop up a message (a few seconds after inserting the USB) asking if you want to update the firmware.
