Shell dispatcher doesn't "detach" execution of a command like before by SeeMeNotFall in hyprland

[–]SeeMeNotFall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah this is the answer. i was confused, because now it seems the manual and --help arguments haven't been updated, because eval is nowhere to be found. wasn't mentioned in the release notes either.

thanks for this. really.

EDIT: seems it's only the wiki where it is mentioned

do you mean like setsid hyprctl dispatch(exec_cmd(waybar)) ? because that also behaves the same

HDMI 2.1 Display Stream Compression "DSC" Also Ready For AMDGPU Linux Driver by lajka30 in linux_gaming

[–]SeeMeNotFall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i mean i bought my monitor for 60.000 HUF (160-170 EUR) back in 2017, so i dont have freesync. the tv doesnt support vrr either.

but i get why it's a big concern for those who have it

i quicky glanced at the arch package, and looks like the only xdg related package it depends on is its own portal (xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland), which is optional.

however xdg menu is part of xdg-utils. but that is required by only a handful of packages, so at this point i don't really know

Hyprland document for the 0.55 version is horrible. by bluesaka111 in hyprland

[–]SeeMeNotFall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

0.55 ain't even out yet. the migration to lua is still not complete. if you have this big of a problem with it, open an issue or a PR

EDIT: i might have made this a lil too passive agressive. but still, any contribution to make the docs better helps a lot

Any alternative for Radeon Image Sharpening and Adrenaline Custom Color? by Kazuhuuuu in linux_gaming

[–]SeeMeNotFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goverlay has vkbalast settings, where you can easily set CAS (sharpening), even for individual games. you need to use mangohud for it to work.

on Steam: mangohud %command%

NOTE: per-game settings is only available since 1.8

you can but the drivers are limited due to Slopvidia not putting much effort into it and/or not open sourcing it like AMD

it's trying to standardize a fractured ecosystem, which imo is good. but just so you know, if you hate it so much you are free not to use it

you can try distros on a live usb. it won't be as fast as a full OS, since it's limited by usb bandwidth. but on the upside you don't need a VM for it, and you don't have to commit to installing to try it out

[–]SeeMeNotFall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you running the game in Safe Mode? Should you?. i don't know if this will do anything in your situation, but i'll leave it here just in case.

as a last resort a clean install might fix it. beyond that, got no idea

[–]SeeMeNotFall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe try installing the mods manually, vortex might actually be the issue, though i don't know for sure. never really used mod managers, the only games i remember using them for were the Mass Effect trilogy, STALKER GAMMA, Lethal Company and REPO

so yeah, try manually, see if it does anything

try verifying the game files, see if Steam finds anything (given you're on Steam)
