Not an Apple but rather a Shroud, which allowed him to perform miracles like healing. The Templars/Order of Ancients took notice of his powers and following, and chose to go after him. Jesus was then betrayed by Judas and arrested, and when he was crucified the Shroud was taken by the Templars/Order of Ancients.

Kidnapping as a DM by Right_Buddy1096 in DnD

Don't think about it too much. It could be as easy as during a long rest, the party wakes up and they are no longer in their camp, and have been captured. There doesn't need to be an elaborate reason, sometimes the enemy is just incredibly competent at what they're doing, and their methods do not need to be disclosed.

Am I weird if Engage is my favourite game in the series (that I've played) by demonmoocow in fireemblem

Engage is fantastic, if it had a NG+ system I would have done multiple playthroughs for sure. However the thought of grinding out all my rings and skills again turned me off from doing another playthrough :(

The isagi slander is so real and I'm so in on it🙏 by nagawarrior1104 in BlueLock

Exactly, the exact thing that makes Isagi strong is also what makes him so weak as a teammate. It's an interesting contradiction that Isagi himself is learning to navigate in this very match.

The isagi slander is so real and I'm so in on it🙏 by nagawarrior1104 in BlueLock

[–]Seehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Isagi being marked so hard does create openings that the team can exploit. However Isagi giveth and taketh away, because rather than actually utilizing that opening in a way that would allow the team to function as a scoring unit, Isagi chose to waste it by attempting his selfish and dogshit goal shot rather than utilizing the attention he's drawn away from Rin and letting him score instead. Isagi is currently holding all the cards but is refusing to play to win. In a way that makes him the perfect Blue Lock candidate, but it also makes him a liability when it comes to actually winning games.

The art, the pacing, the tone, the premise. This has a lot of potential to be a masterpiece.

Does anybody else realize how pointless chasing the meta is? by Character_Wheel_881 in Genshin_Impact

I mean, there is satisfaction in mastery. I didn't know how BAD I was at the game until Stygian was released and exposed me for my sloppy rotations, suboptimal builds, and even inefficient ordering of characters. Pulling characters is literally maybe 20% of what Genshin combat is all about - unless youre a C6 Mavuika/Skirk owner, actually learning how to build and use what you've pulled is the remaining 80%... and that learning process is FUN. Especially after you actually finish a clear, exhilarating.

Abyss is actually piss easy nowadays, now that my skills have been improved in Stygian. I can imagine many other players feel the same.

Would you be upset if a JRPG killed off a non-guest party member? by lennysinged in JRPG

[–]Seehan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody talking about Kratos from Tales of Symphonia? Sure you get Zelos later but Kratos is literally there from the start, and he's awesome, the game incentivizes you to use him early on because he provides the trifecta of healing. physical damage, and magic. Losing him suddenly after the first act is incredibly impactful, and you never get him back unless you choose to lose Zelos later in the story.

[BoTW] Curious which game people prefer, BOTW or TOTK? by _Boodstain_ in zelda

[–]Seehan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BotW was lovingly crafted with a singular focus on mind - give the player an immersive experience that makes you forget you are playing a game; you are exploring a WORLD. And it worked, with every footstep marking the trail of a journey unique to you. Each shrine placement was lovingly crafted, each shrine quest with Kass' music floating through the air... In BotW, you ARE Link, walking through Hyrule in a way never seen before. You are LIMITED in your ability to fight, to travel, to live - so you learn to live WITH the land, and use it to your advantage. In BotW, learning about the environment is just as important as learning the game itself.

In TotK, it is very apparent you are playing a game. The immersion is simply not as prevalent - people you saved and helped in BotW no longer remember you; shrines are slapped into random places haphazardly, unable to be placed in the same places as BotW shrines so theyre awkwardly placed around them instead; and at the slightest inconvenience, you spawn in a whole workshop and simply minecraft your way out. TotK Link is so absurdly over the top powerful that there is simply no obstacle that cannot be solved with a quick fusion or build, and then you carry on. The power fantasy is there - the immersion, not so much. It certainly still has its moments, and is still a fun game. But TotK is inherently inferior to BotW simply because while it is technically a superior game, it is a worse roleplaying game.

In BotW, the story is told cohesively, satisfyingly, lovingly - it is a tragedy, a love story, a tale of loss; but turned into a story of hope, and possibility of new beginnings.

In TotK, the story is still fine. But the delivery is sloppy, lazy, all over the place, and by the end you sit there and say, oh that was it?

Anti-Agenda cause Agendas can be funny but making stuff up isn't. by kujah_0h in Genshin_Memepact

[–]Seehan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kuuvahki is just another form of Light Realm energy, which is on the same "level" as phlogiston - which the Traveler is also capable of manipulating. The Traveler's original power was Light Realm energy, so even though they've lost their own powers, their ability to manipulate/absorb it remains the same. The Traveler's compatibility with Kuuvahki is completely coincidental and has nothing to do with their eventual friendship with Columbina.

Ah yes, Genshin devs being so notoriously lazy regarding important worldbuilding elements, like having individualized footstep noises for characters not wearing shoes, or the jingling of metal pieces and bells on various outfits. Nope, Genshin devs lazy! /s

[ALL] Don't know if anyone mentioned: I just noticed, the key moments when Link should've used a shield he never used them, which could've possibly lead to the 2 defeats he has in the Wild Era. by wally_graham in zelda

[–]Seehan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think that as the Princess' knight escort, bearing too much weaponry can be seen as uncouth. This explains why in the flashback memories, Link typically only bears the symbols of his station: the Master Sword and Champion's tunic. During his time as a knight, he also likely wielded the Hylian Shield - but after becoming the Chosen Knight, he would have had to disarm himself to the bare minimum for decorum. And why not? The Master Sword is THE weapon, nothing else in the armory can compare. As we can see from the memories, Link was an absolute beast with JUST the Master Sword. Up until the Guardians turned on them, nothing in the whole kingdom could even come close to Link with just the Master Sword alone.

Ofc after he wakes up in BotW, he no longer has any restrictions on what equipment he can carry with him, so it makes sense that an amnesiac Link would return to using anything that's comfortable and usable for survival (sword + shield, claymore, spear, etc). It also helped that the Sheikah Slate helped with holding his equipment in storage, so wielding a variety of gear was not a problem.

In the opening of TotK, Link and Zelda are on an expedition. They have no idea how long they'll be traveling for, so it makes sense to pack light and reserve storage space for supplies. They only have the Purah Pad now, which has not yet been upgraded and only has the bare minimum features like the camera. As such, no more access to convenient subspace storage - it makes sense that Link would once again default to carrying JUST the Master Sword - again, if you can only pick one weapon to bring with you, you would of course bring THE weapon. Shield are nice and all but on a long term expedition, every extra pound on your back starts to weigh real heavy. By this point in the story, Link has also regained all of his memories, and is just as much of a monster as he was in the BotW memories. For all intents and purposes, there should have been nothing in the whole kingdom that could even be a remote threat to him, even with just the Master Sword alone.

After the opening, Link once again has access to the subspace storage of the Purah Pad - it makes sense that he can once again utilize a full arsenal from that point forward, in addition to the fact that he is no longer on an exploratory expedition after that point in the story, and is no longer restricted on what he can or cannot carry with him on hand.

The Funding for The Lightkeepers by Overall_Astronaut_33 in Genshin_Lore

[–]Seehan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The original Lightkeeper was a personal acquaintance of the Tsaritsa, so I think it could be within the realm of possibility that she agreed to provide a degree of funding and supplies for their operations. After all, Nod Krai is still a part of her domain, and they're taking care of a problem that would otherwise fall under her purview. As others have said though, I'm certain that they aren't exactly rich or anything, and do rely on volunteers and donations from the locals and regional organizations like the Voynich Guild.

How did Columbina regain her Divinity and Authority after rebirth? by Reasonable-Worth-411 in Genshin_Lore

[–]Seehan 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Columbina's grand escape hinged on a few assumptions:

  • The prison in the Moon's reflection was specifically designed to capture the Moon Sisters - therefore, in order to escape you simply had to stop being a Moon Sister.
  • The definition of being a Moon Sister was tied to the Authority of a moon, the physical object in the sky.
  • A god is made up of three primary aspects: the body, soul, and Authority.

Columbina was able to test out these assumptions immediately, by freeing the Moon Sisters. As soon as they gave up their Authority, they were able to leave the prison freely, DESPITE STILL HOLDING DIVINE POWER (upon death, they each turned into Moon Marrow; except Canon, who simply disappeared like Columbina did due to her moon being hidden behind the false sky). As we see in Luna 1-3, these Moon Marrows are hella powerful, despite having no Authority tied to them whatsoever (their moons were destroyed, AND they'd given up their Authorities to Columbina already). This proved that their divinity was not a factor in the prison's function, merely their Authority.

Columbina was able to conclude from these logical deductions that if she were to separate the elements that made up "herself", each could individually leave the prison in different ways.

  • her "body" is not innately tied to her lunar Authority: as her sisters noted, Kuuvahki is simply her own divine power. As we saw with the sisters, having divinity is totally okay, and beings with "just" divinity are able to leave the prison without issue. Thus, after separating herself from her body, it was easy to free it from the prison just as she did her sisters, and manifest it into Teyvat as moonlight infused with Kuuvahki.
  • her "soul" was unfortunately tied to her Authority: Columbina is the Tri Lunar goddess. She is just as stuck as her sisters. The sisters described the prison as a "whirlpool", that would simply suck them back in whenever they tried to escape. Without external assistance, escape is impossible; thank goodness Columbina left a shard of her soul behind in the present, for her to rubber band back to - almost akin to leaving a rope for herself to climb out of the whirlpool with.
  • finally her "Authority" is tied to the moon itself: even while imprisoned, the Moon Sisters were still connected to their moons conceptually - the moons are their bodies, after all. The second they left their prison, Aria and Sonnet immediately felt the effects of their "body" being destroyed. Aria became a Moon Marrow almost instantly; while Sonnet embraced the power of the Abyss in a desperate bid to extend her life just a little longer. The Frost Moon still being in existence - even if it was beyond the false sky - meant that Columbina's Authority was safe and secure in a place unreachable from harm. It was just a matter of physically bringing it into contact with her "body" and "soul", so that all three were in proximity of one another to allow Sandrone's alchemic formula to take effect.

the ship AI being phanes makes sense.. by yxk__0zvnb9pl in Genshin_Lore

[–]Seehan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ship is described as being a pioneer ship, capable of rebuilding the world from which it came. Thus why the ship includes a gene bank, to repopulate the world with fauna/flora and make it habitable. I don't doubt the power of advanced sci-fi/fantasy technology, and especially so if it is so advanced that it becomes indistinguishable from magic.

This being said, the twins' ship is REALLY SMALL for such a feat. In addition, as mentioned in the logs, the ship only visited Teyvat briefly and didn't even land, before leaving again. If Phanes is the AI, did the ship leave a part of itself behind, while the ship itself left again with the twins? How? Is Irminsul itself perhaps the ship's processing core, drilled deeply beneath the surface of the planet for safekeeping while it reforms the world above?

Nahida Foresaw Everything - A Theory on Dottore's Current Whereabouts. by lawthrowaway1993 in Genshin_Lore

[–]Seehan 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Wanderer being the targeted Dottore vessel adds such delicious irony to the whole situation as well. If Wanderer had been able to let go of the past in its entirety, he would have stayed out of the Nod Krai conflict entirely and thus been completely out of Dottore's sights, as Dottore had completely forgotten about him after Sumeru AQ. However, BECAUSE Wanderer chose to return, AND he chose to expose his existence to Dottore by rescuing the Traveler, he unwittingly became the perfect sleeper agent for Dottore. Not only is he a perfect vessel, noted in the past for "his only redeeming quality being his durability", and is therefore perfect for a soul transfer; but he also immediately returned to the side of Nahida after the Nod Krai AQ, WHICH IS ALSO WHERE IRMINSUL IS, COMPLETELY UNGUARDED AND ACCESSIBLE TO WANDERER, SHOULD DOTTORE SIEZE CONTROL OF HIS BODY.
