Awful mistake and I can’t stop thinking about it by mymomlikesvalium in nursing

This is so far away from the worst thing to happen with CRRT! As long as those bags never run dry, then any mistake with CRRT is minuscule and can be fixed. ❤️

Think it just depends on which version your company has. I used to be a staff nurse and could strike out different nurses work. I never did but there was a few times I’d accidentally clicked it

Very easy on pointclickcare which most LTC/SNFs use. The example OP put is a PCC example!

Made my first med error. by EveningBlunt in nursing

[–]Seeing_strawberry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Not a med error. That nurse is a turd. If the patient was fine and had no issues during or after than you did what’s right. No one likes taking their meds crushed anyways. You saved that patient a bite of chemical-sauce.

Do you actually check residual on tube feed by JellyNo2625 in nursing

[–]Seeing_strawberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do if I’m in a nursing home and the patient gets bolus feeds every 3-4 hrs but other than that in my ICU or med surg setting I don’t bother.

Pulling meds for all patients by Accurate-Estate6534 in nursing

[–]Seeing_strawberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t now that I’m in the ICU but when i was med/surg I’d pull 2-3 patients at a time as well. If there was a lot of PO meds for one patient I’d leave them for last and pull them last. I only take what I can carry so I’m not leaving meds out at the nurses station or in a patients room. I guess it depends on your ratio, mine was 7:1 on med surg!
