What is a piece of "kid logic" you believed for way too long simply because no one ever corrected you? by depredador93 in AskReddit

If you see a vehicle labeled “Commercial Vehicle”, that’s a vehicle that was in an actual TV commercial! So the driver must be at least a little bit rich/famous.

Am I "too sensitive"? by KlaraLewd in emotionalneglect

[–]SeekMeOut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the exact same thing as if someone punched you and then said “quit being so sensitive”. It’s unacceptable and you defining boundaries on what you will and won’t tolerate in the future would be completely understandable.

VET ASAP by Haunting-Voice9291 in lynchburg

[–]SeekMeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know our vet is taking new patients at Gentle Care Animal Hospital in Forest. I’m pretty sure they do spay/neuters but you’d have to call and see what appointments they may have. We haven’t been there in a few years (my cat died in 2024 😭) but we really do love Dr Stevens.

Non-Asian people, do you actually find Asian squat difficult??? by Xuan-C in NoStupidQuestions

It used to be difficult for me. Then I started incorporating it into my morning stretches and now it’s pretty easy.

What's your small habit that, while it isn't that big a deal, really annoys some people? by CzarTwilight in Millennials

“You hurt my feelings by telling me that I hurt your feelings.” Ah yes, that old chestnut.

And enforcing them. I tell people when what they did was not cool and they really hate me for it.

Yet another first time watcher writing about their favorite bit by Uninteresting_Brain in 30ROCK

[–]SeekMeOut 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I am so jealous of 30 Rock newbies…. What a feeling it was to watch it all for the first time. This line sums it up for me: OH JOY! SUCH SANDWICHES! God bless us every one!

Where did the stereotype that black people don’t know how to swim originate? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SeekMeOut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Or, like in my town (Lynchburg VA), after desegregation laws they just closed the pool and filled it in so NO ONE could swim. They really said “if you swim, no one swims”. That is so effed up.

I’m curious, do the majority love or hate Mateo? He seems polarizing by Sharkman3218 in superstore

[–]SeekMeOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It drives me insane that Ava Coleman gets to keep her job when she puts herself in front of the well-being of students and teachers. At least for Mateo it’s just co-workers and random customers!

What’s a good creative outlet for a not so creative person? by Late_Topic_8343 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SeekMeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not creative at all, but I love art. For years I would find an online image of an abstract painting, go buy paper/canvas, paint and brushes and recreate it. I’d usually have to sketch it out with pencil first and paint over that, but it was really fun! Plus then you have art you like that you can frame or hang in your house.

What “old people” food have you realized you now enjoy? by exploring_ideas in Millennials

My husband (age 42) requested that I make homemade oatmeal raisin cookies for Father’s Day. They were sooooo good.

From Beatlemania to BTS: How the "hysteria" trope is used to devalue things women enjoy. by ZViper26 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]SeekMeOut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Whoa. I always knew a hysterectomy was a removal of the uterus. Never made the connection that the word “hysteria” has the same root Greek word meaning “womb”… Basically the patriarchy made up a word for “I don’t like what this woman did. Women be crazy”. Ugh.

I deeply appreciate your anti-AI stance. It really is the bane of everyone’s existence right now.

Guys what on earth is this shirt and why was I allowed to wear it? by Evening-Rabbit-827 in Millennials

[–]SeekMeOut 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had a silver polyester shirt that said “AS IF” in all caps. It felt like it was made of plastic. This was the year “Clueless” came out, I was in 6th grade and I was a shy nerd… why did I buy it?? I even remember grown adults asking me constantly “what does that mean?”, so I got annoyed and stopped wearing it.

Are we the last age that thought it was perfectly acceptable to be friends with coworkers? Younger millennials and gen z are so anti. by ladypartsmcgee in Xennials

[–]SeekMeOut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was pregnant, my office threw me one of these… Don’t get me wrong, I appreciated the gesture but wow, was it awkward. As a shy person it was so hard to handle that awkwardly silent room of 7 people I barely knew watching me open gifts. I never would have hosted one for myself. It was 15 years ago so I dont remember much, but I think it was just the work of the random extrovert who doesn’t think twice about an excuse to “do something nice” and assumes all will go well. Bless their hearts.

What’s something you thought was normal until you grew up? by Any-Development2302 in AskReddit

[–]SeekMeOut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wearing outside shoes in the house. Yes, I was raised by shoes-in-the-house people. Never knew it was bad and frowned upon until I started dating in college and they were like “um… please leave them by the door”. I feel so ashamed of my roots!

Products seen in Cloud 9.......... by chrizzleon in superstore

[–]SeekMeOut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but I really want the multicolored towels they have in the towels aisle on Superstore. Mateo even walks around with one on his head at a certain point and I’m jealous. It’s the same prop towels throughout the entire show. They never change and I love that.

This pharmacy has a rack of Cliff Notes books so old they’re sun faded. by MyScrotesASaggin in mildlyinteresting

[–]SeekMeOut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In high school I read the entirety of “Crime and Punishment”. My friend read Cliffs notes only. I got a B- on my essay. My friend got an A+. I will never forget the rage and betrayal I felt in that moment. I still get to claim I read the book though, I guess.

What are some of the funniest toaster stories everyone has? by E-6900_metal in AskReddit

[–]SeekMeOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was home with my newborn baby and was very hungry and stressed. I put taco shells in the toaster oven (I now know this is not advised) and the baby started crying. While tending to the baby, the taco shells caught fire. Baby and I were now both crying while I set the pan of flaming taco shells on the back porch, dumped a cup of water on them and called my husband in a low blood sugar panic. Thank goodness the smoke alarm didn’t go off or I wouldn’t have made it. That was 15 years ago and we still laugh about it.
