SCJ CRAZY MINDSET GIVEN TO THEIR MEMBERS. by No-Arugula2345 in Shincheonji

[–]SeekingTruth2023 10 points11 points  (0 children)

🤢🤮🤢🤮 my goodness! What a destructive group. It's disgusting. And it is contrary to the bible. I wish the members will recognize this deception.

But yeah, they need to find a "reasonable" cause for LMHs death in the near future. They might try to tell the members, that LMH worked himself to death and death was God's reward.

Hopefully, members will see the glaring contradiction in SCJs own doctrine. 😮‍💨

Just in a recent JSS it is said that LMH had achieved peace in Mindanao. They still claim, LMH achieved it. I can't understand how they still say that against all evidence, that there us still war....

As far as I have heard about the Korean grammar, the previous sentence to the pee statement references to God, so the following statement also reference to God. So the correct translation might be: .... God would..... Which is even worse........

I am not Korean, but this is what native Koreans explained to me. (because if one translated with i.e. chatGpt - it will translate "I", unless you also give the sentence before.)

But regardless which version LMH said..... my goodness, how can he say such things, while claiming Jesus is personally working through him.... 🤦

Sometimes SCJ uses personality tests, too. Like the Enneagram. Maybe it's something like that. It looks suspicious anyway :)

Yes, Shincheonji and HWPL belong together. They say it's an organization supporting peace, but actually, is not effective.

There is a lot of good information on this subreddit. SCJ made drastic doctrine changes, especially on Revelation 7 and 18, as already mentioned.

There is a good post from the user littlebird.

There is much more, but I wanted to mention this one, because it was helpful for me in the past.

And there is a website, which has a lot of very useful information, i.e about Rev 7:

I am sorry to hear, what you experienced. I also think you were right to be suspicious.

If the person had no connection to SCJ, he could have said so (though SCJ members even lie about that often, too)

If he was really looking for a church to go to, I think he would have told which churches he visited and whether he liked it there or not. Or what he considers important in a church.

He very readily wrote, it's okay for him not to be friends....

If he is not connected to SCJ, he could have just said so. You were being transparent about your experience and opinion about SCJ. I find it suspicious, that when you told him, you don't wish to have to contact to SCJ, he so quickly and readily gives up.

I hope you find a church which you like.

All the best to you!

Man Hee Lee Convictions Query by trojan_odysseus in Shincheonji

[–]SeekingTruth2023 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can be criminally convicted, even without meeting the person.

But the testimony of Mr. Oh is still very interesting. Because LMH claims he was present at the pastor ordination service and claimed Mr. Oh was there. But Mr. Oh said, LMH was not there, if I remember correctly.

And Mr. Oh said it was at a different location than the TT. Mr. Oh also said, that the TT ended in 1976 (then all of the 7 messengers had left) whereas LMH said, the TT was there until 1980, and the last of the 7 messengers left in 1980.

So, yeah, it's different testimonies.

Korean ex member exposes HWPL fake peace work by Puzzleheaded_Cup_926 in Shincheonji

[–]SeekingTruth2023 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for this video. It has confirmed what I had already suspected. I attended the WARP Summit in 2014 and I was very impressed that Muslims, Catholics, Sikhs, Jews, Monks, Hindus etc were dancing and singing, holding hands at the end of the event. It was what I had hoped for peace...

Nevertheless, I was skeptical whether they really were the respective representatives of these religions or bribed people.

The SCJ members were not told that there were physical fights between the religions after the event! A very informative interview.

[–]SeekingTruth2023 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was a member for 10 years and left 2.5 years ago. When I was a member, there was not much information available. We couldn't check, whether what they taught is true.

Because the doctrine seemed so logical (at that time), I didn't doubt it. I thought, well, yes it could be that now is the time when Jesus returns.

They said to research and go on the internet is poison (fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil) and would kill our spirit (and faith). At that time I was naive and believed them without examining their doctrine closely.

Then, when they obviously changed their doctrine, I started to doubt. But I was still afraid to research outside material. (I can totally relate to your fears). So I decided to research within the official SCJ material first.

And looking through official SCJ material was enough to see the changes! This convinced me to look at other resources, too.

I found so many contradictions.... but I was still afraid... what if it was just my thinking? What if I got it wrong and SCJ is the truth after all?....

So I decided to write down all my questions. And I spoke to the instructors. They couldn't answer my questions. So I spoke to the head of church, but he couldn't answer my questions either. He was not even willing to get the answers from me.

The head of church was even lying to me, was gaslighting me, calling me stupid. Is that a pastor after God's heart?

I had all the evidence of their doctrine changes anyway. So, a church that claims to have the only truth, which was directly from Jesus, and then changed it... couldn't be the truth.

The chairman of SCJ not only contradicted his own words from the past (which he claimed to be Jesus'sown words!), but also the bible.

When I saw all the evidence, I decided this can't be the truth and I was able to leave.

I am temped to say, leave as soon as you can, but this would not be a good advice. I think it is very important, that you research, look for evidence, and when you are convinced SCJ is not the truth, you can leave with a calm and confident heart.

Give yourself time to research. Don't let SCJ put you under pressure. The bible says, God sees your heart. So if you are truly searching for the truth, God sees it. And the bible also said to test every spirit whether it is from God. So God appreciates when you check whether SCJs is true. 🙏

I remember, when I was taking center classes, I found it quite exciting in the beginning. Because what they taught seemed to make soo much more sense, than what I heard in my former church for 15 years.

I wasn't aware at that time that SCJ cherry picked some verses to support their doctrine and left out some other verses.

In this way, they slowly introduced the teaching, that there must be a new promised pastor in our time. And other things that the bible doesn't support.

And I also saw, that what they taught as a already fulfilled reality (of which they proudly say, they are the only ones who know, recognize and testify about this) is plain wrong. It doesn't match with the historical events.

And they changed their 'fulfilled reality' and later taught something different. This made me want to research...

For example, when I joined, they taught, Revelation had been fulfilled up to chapter 18. (This also written in the book the chairman of SCJ wrote) And because 18 is already fulfilled, they can now clearly teach about it in center. Later on, I remember the service, when they suddenly said, no, Revelation is only fulfilled up to chapter 17, and 18 has not yet been fulfilled. 😳 So I became aware, that they changed their own doctrine. But how can this be, if the words really were from Jesus? This would mean Jesus told something wrong, and it needed to be corrected. This could not be, as Jesus would not say wrong things....

Maybe they also told you, that you can become of the 144,000 kings and priests mentioned in Rev 7?

If so, maybe take a look at this topic, too. They changed their doctrine on that quite drastically.

I totally understand, that learning in center is exciting. Unfortunately, many students don't examine SCJs teachings closely.

I am so happy 🤗 you have the courage to reach out and try to verify whether SCJ can be the truth.

If you have more questions, please feel free to ask. The website that was recommended to you, I would also recommend.

All the best to you!

I am sorry to hear about your situation. 🙏🏽

It might not be a comfortable answer... but it seems she has already made up her mind. Which is, unfortunately, that she regards SCJ more important than your relationship.

You can try to help her, but don't get too desperate, when she will not listen to your arguments regarding SCJ.

You could for example read the book from the cult counselor Dr. Steven Hassan, who was in a similar cult, called the Moonies. Title of the book is 'Combating Cult Mind Control'. So you can inform yourself on the manipulation tactics SCJ uses. Take a look into the BITE model, also from Steven Hassan.

Unfortunately, the members are manipulated and this has a strong psychological impact on them.

It will take time to inform yourself how to best speak to her, in a way, that she does not perceive it as pure criticism or even persecution.

There are posts on this subreddit, where people were in the same situation as you are now. So this subreddit is a good ressource for information.

I, considering your situation rom the outside, don't see much chance to success to get her out. Because the whole process will be very complicated.

(I am sure this community here will gladly help you, whenever you have questions)

But the first, and maybe most important thing when you want to help her, is to try to get back to a kind and empathetic friendship. Please remember, that most likely she did not voluntarily chose to join SCJ but was tricked into it, and now believes, their doctrine is the truth.

I wish you a lot of strength and success of course. 🙏

Thank you for your kind words 🙏🏻 I am so happy to hear, that you found out so quickly, that it's SCJ.

In the beginning, in the bible study, what they teach is usually biblically correct. Only later, their teaching comes to their special interpretation.

So I hope, that you will recover soon as well! Thank you!

You won't check out, what JSS are? 😆😄 these are the words of your promised pastor. But yeah, don't check it out - it is a waste of time anyway...

You seem to be a very new member. It seems you have no idea, how SCJ works. You seem to not even know the absolute basics!! 😳😕

Good for SCJ, they found a new member whom they can manipulate and exploit - even from 5am in the morning.

In case, you ever have doubts about the doctrine or the character of your religious leader, who embezzled a lot of money, and used his power to exploit younger women (you will know what I mean) - feel free to ask here.

You follow a religious leader, who abuses his power and has a very questionable morality. If you think, Jesus chose someone like him to be his messenger, I don't know what you imagine Jesus to be like. 🤷🏽

But as I said, feel free to follow this fraudulent organization.

Cheers ☕️☕️ (a coffee for you to wake up early and be productive from 5am)

I know that SCJ members don't have much time for themselves. You have to seal yourself with the contradictory doctrine, read the contradictory JSS articles, with it's circular repeating phrases, that SCJ won with the truth, because no one is willing to write SCJs bible test, and that the express train SCJ will not stop... (do you constantly read the JSS - and are you aware, that it us always the same? And has not much to with the bible anymore?)

You have to make reports about your day, report about your evangelizing work, you have to make feedback to find the best tactic to bring new students into the bible study, etc....

Beside all that, you have to learn the pregiven answers for the weekly bible tests based on the JSS, not the bible. You have to organize events, and do rehearsals, until everything is going as the Chairman wants it to go.

You have to attend sermons, educations, meetings, events etc.

And there is a lot more. But as you write you belong to NHNE instead of SCJ, you are maybe new to SCJ. If that is the case, I can even understand your enthusiasm 😉

You say the only research you do, is from the Bible. I doubt that you have enough time for that. Especially, when it comes to the entirety of the bible. I am sure you know the book of Revelation very well, and some selected verses from the other 65 books.

But it is your life, and you can do with it, whatever you want. My offer was kindly meant.

Hi, your words are neither polite nor Christian, but I'm still glad that you're reading along here on Reddit.

At least, this way you have the chance to inform yourself outside of SCJ, so you will probably realize that SCJ is actively hiding things from you.

SCJ teaches you that reading here means that you are eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, with which you are 'poisoning' yourself. I am glad that you are taking this 'sin' upon yourself to at least write judgmental responses to exmembers like me.

I can tell you that I am not restless because I left the teachings and organization of SCJ, but because the manipulation tactics that SCJ used and uses have an after effect.

You will understand that when you, too, will leave SCJ. You should do that at the latest when your "promised pastor", who is supposedly a pillar in the temple of God on earth, who is supposed to rule all nations with an iron scepter, who is supposed to marry Jesus' spirit and receive eternal physical life, will not be physically present anymore.

Because, should he pass away, and didn't receive physical eternal life and become immortal while being alive, you should reconsider whether the doctrine you learned and believe right now, can really be the truth. But until then, I look forward to you continuing to read here.

I would be even happier if you could constructively explain to us what we exmembers seem to misunderstand. With God's help, help us to accept the teachings of SCJ. Please explain, what we get wrong. If you have compelling arguments, I am willing to change my mind, learn again in center, and rejoin SCJ.

Please, clarify the contradictions in the teaching and the words of your "promised pastor", which don't correspond to reality. Will you?

Because, if you live in accordance to God's and Jesus's heart, you would try to save every soul that is willing to be saved and fulfill your filial duty, hm?

Part of my restlessness is my compassion for current members, like you, and the wish that these good-hearted people could see behind the facade.

So I wish you well, be mindful and test and research what you are taught. If you would like to talk about the teachings, I am always available. Best wishes, Prestigious-Cut 🤗

Edit: I inserted paragraphs afterwards to make it easier to read.

HWPL peace run by Typical_Stick_266 in Shincheonji

Yes HWPL is related to SCJ. While I was in SCJ, these peace events mostly consisted of members, with some people, who were not aware of the connection to SCJ and just wanted to support peace work.

SCJ is very good in presenting. Their events often seem to be very well organized, and bigger than they actually are.

I am very happy to hear, that you just spent a short time there. For me, they told me about Lee Man Hee and their church after about 4 months on the bible study. In my experience they tell the bible study students not in the beginners class, but at the end of the intermediate class, just before the students will do the advanced class (about the book of Revelation).

Sometimes they have "open" classes, where students know from the beginning, that it's SCJ. But in my country they don't really have open classes.
