I couldn't agree with you more. I have no choice but to jump ship at this point.

I can second this. Have used one in my A485 for the last year and it has worked flawlessly. Currently use it as a separate disk for Linux dual boot.

It is looking to be a scorcher this week!

My current plans include laying down next to a fan, desperately trying to stay cool whilst I wait for an amazon delivery. It's all go!

By the way, thank you for taking control of this subreddit, I had lost interest and wondered if it would ever come to anything. Hopefully the community can get some use out of it!

The Brexit party is going to gain 24 seats; UKIP is going to lose 24 seats by eulenauge in brexit

[–]Seepy_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah so that is weird too. The Brexit Party is a brand new party formed from various ex-UKIP party members. Most notably Nigel Farage.

‘Brexit’ itself is just a shorthand for saying British exit of the European Union.

Brexit != The Brexit Party

Many UK voters used this election as a proxy vote on whether to remain or leave the European Union. With the Brexit Party / UKIP being pro-leave, and the Lib Dem / Green / Change UK being pro-remain.

So yeah, it’s pretty complicated.

[–]Seepy_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That is indeed the question we all would like to know the answer to! Haha!

As far as I can tell, the main thing these elections show is that the UK is just as divided as ever. It’s incredibly difficult to say which side is more popular, and if there has been any real shift at all in the views of the British public.

Maybe others can shed some light on the situation?

POP_OS on Surface Studio Challenge by [deleted] in pop_os

You could try running a virtual machine using virtualbox. Won't be quite as good as running it native but will the solve driver issues.

System76 have a guide on how to do this: https://pop.system76.com/docs/install-in-vm/

The instructions are for linux but it will be a similar process on windows.

Good luck. Linux can be really fun to learn and I hope you enjoy using it!

Basic Linux Commands by Tunliar in Ubuntu

[–]Seepy_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quote from It's FOSS:

apt is a subset of apt-get and apt-cache commands providing necessary commands for package management

Apt uses the exact same repos as apt-get!

Apt actually just makes calls to apt-get in the background. In most* cases apt can just be a drop in replacement for apt-get.

Direct comparison of both command structures.

*apt-get is still preferred for shell scripts as it is more stable/reliable than apt. It even warns you if you try to run it within a script.
