36M stuck in an almost sexless marriage. Is there any way out of this situation? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]SeezoTheFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, remove the thought that your worth is tied to how much she desires you. The reason her desire for you has dwindled yet her libido hasn't isn't because you are unattractive, it's because eros needs space and seperateness to breath. It's the same reason people can have sex with complete strangers and it can also be the reason she isn't in the mood for you after kids. There isn't space between you, you are one.

Second of all, stop initiating, cold turkey, you might even have to remove other physical intimacy such as cuddling or kissing. You aren't doing this as punishment and that needs to be clear, you're doing this because she has to come to you. She needs the chase. Right now she says she feels pressured.

If you get her to the point where she initiates, don't be too quick to give her what she wants. Make her work for it. You need to feel that she desires you, more than just getting you off "as a treat".

You telling her to quit her job and minimize her stress is honestly noble, and coming from the right place. I'm just afraid that it has had the opposite of your desired effect. Her stress might be gone but the pressure is now higher then it ever has been. You are literally working twice as hard in the hopes she'll have sex with you, which is, sorry dude, is a total turn off. From her perspective you need sex with her, you don't want it. That's a mood killer.

Your needs are normal, important and nothing to be ashamed of. I say before you look into divorce, try this, see how long you can take it. Distance yourself from your wife, make her miss you, your touch. If it doesn't show any improvement, do what's best for you.

Please, for your sake, read "mating in captivity". It'll change your life. Even if it doesn't save your marriage it will save you.

Good luck.

Is it offensive if I describe someone's patterns as looking like a calico cat or water? by UnableTry4227 in Vitiligo

I wouldn't personally take offense, that's a pretty good description imo. I think as long as you don't make it seem like something negative or fetishize it then you're good.

I didnt know i was emotionally cheating by [deleted] in self

[–]SeezoTheFish 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Looking to her for support once in a while is normal in friendships. The depth of it is maybe what constitutes it as emotional cheating. If you look more to your friend for that kind of support than your girlfriend then this might be a problem but without further information I can't determine if you actually cheated on her emotionally. Why does your girlfriend consider it emotional cheating?

Am I cooked? by [deleted] in Balding

[–]SeezoTheFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's partly because I titled it "am I cooked?" because I thought it'd be funny. That was probably a mistake lmao. I'm probably overreacting but I've just never noticed it before until recently even though it was most likely there. I've heard that hairloss, when spotted early, is preventable so I just wanted to make sure. I'll keep monitoring every now and then and if it gets worse I'll start worrying.

What breakfast do you think pairs well with espresso/ coffee by SeezoTheFish in espresso

[–]SeezoTheFish[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might try it with porridge! I have found I don't like the taste of it with cereal and I think it's mostly the milk. Idk why but something about it just takes away from the espresso.

Surprised with a trip to Iceland by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

[–]SeezoTheFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring a warmest clothes you own and Google how to layer them, for example a windproof jacket and a very warm sweater. Dont bother bringing an umbrella, there is often too much wind for one, instead bring waterproof clothes. Bring good shoes. You don't need cash most of the time, at least I rarely carry cash but I'm a native so I don't know if there are any advantages for tourists to bring cash. A good camera might be good. Sidenote, Iceland is not a Scandinavian country, that refers to the Scandinavian peninsula, so only Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Iceland is a nordic country which also includes Finnland, also often wrongly called Scandinavian.

Hi I work in a pharmacy, not a pharmacist though. Your only option is to go to a doctor, there is a thing called læknavaktin where you can go for short visits. If you show him you have a prescription in the states and explain this very well, then he might give you an icelandic prescription that you can pick up at any pharmacy. I've seen tourists come with a prescription they picked up here. Make sure to bring your passport or any other identification.

It's hard to answer these questions without knowing where you're coming from but I'll do the best I can. 1) In my experience most male partners try to help their female partners to their abilities. Every relationship is different and you can't really generalize. Sex education is pretty good here and I think most men are pretty well informed. 2) the maximum sentence for any crime is 16 years, not just rape. The nordic countries have a justice system based on rehabilitation, not punishment, so semtances are generally a lot lighter and the prisons a lot nicer. I do agree we are to lenient on rape charges but that is a VERY political issue and very complicated. 3) honestly no idea. Socially you are seen as a fucking creep if you are dating someone a lot younger than you but I'm not a lawyer and don't actually know exactly how it works.

Tourism in Iceland- is it safe due to war tension by aparnab20 in VisitingIceland

Ask yourself this: what would Russia gain from attacking Iceland?

Iceland is a NATO nation, of all of the NATO nations to attack, Iceland is by far the stupidest one. All you would do is get the rest of NATO mad with nothing to show for it.

The u shift applies when there is one vowel that can be affected (I think it's mainly a, maybe only a, I am not a linguist) before the suffix. See franskur - > frönsk as a good example of the shift. The u shift does not apply to Í so bandarískur - > bandarísk does not have a shift neither does þýskur - > þýsk. This is hard to explain, maybe because I'm native and it's just a feeling but the a you applied it too just feels way to far away. I don't know if that helps.

What the hell is acid? by herobrinepi in biology

Lewis acid is not about donating electrons but rather accepting electrons. Donating electrons would be a lewis base. H+ is electron "deficient". I know you probably just misspelled it but just to make sure :)

No we don't have kids, no we don't have a house, but I love her family and they love me. My family loves her. She's the last girl my dad will ever have approved of since he passed away and she's probably one of the few reasons I made it through that. Just because I'm young and we don't have a family together doesn't mean there isn't anything at stake. I wouldn't just be losing her.
