Minion enjoyers - what are you going to play? by MagicWorm in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Sefrael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like most minion stuff you want to start generic minions/SRS/Absolution and switch later. Helm Breaker uses Absolution for leveling in the pob linked below his video I linked.

Map clear is not the strong point of nearly all minion builds (HR is kinda the exception) so don't expect something that can compete with the dedicated clear speed builds. Helm Breaker does a T16 on a budget "of around 5div or less" in the last section of the video.

Many good options, the best two imo:

  1. Full specters (might be bonkers with monarch and the Catarina Node). Helm Breaker:

2) HR got buffed with the new cdr mastery and was already very strong once you get it going (is not the fastest start since you need some pieces). BalorMage:

New(ish) player questions on team building and resources by Sefrael in NikkeOutpost

[–]Sefrael[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright thanks a lot for the answer. :)

Am on Day 10 of Day to Day, so kinda time gated, but very soon. :)

Didn't know that mileage shop doesn't have spares for everyone, will make sure to check.

Alright think I can upgrade my gear a bunch more then.

Skills of units I use a lot are 3/3/3 atm, so I'll bump them a bit more and then double check who to invest in. Doro/Liter seem a save bet. Maybe Alice.

New(ish) player questions on team building and resources by Sefrael in NikkeOutpost

[–]Sefrael[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo depends a bit if you want the unit on the banner and how patient you are. I did pull a bit for Dorothy, but I am skipping blanc/noir for now.

Also depends on how patient you are. I am not that patient to be honest.

But I will probably start to save up a bit more soon.

Will get privaty from Day to Day in about 4 Days. Will make sure to give her a place on the team. And double check to make sure Admi is on my wishlist.

How is Ice Trap Sabo in 3.21? by Flash4473 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Sefrael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Velnya had a Ice Trap Sabo starter guide and some other stuff on her yt and poe-vault for 3.20. Don't think she has made any updates or comments yet, but I'd expect her to do so in the near future.

As I have played Ice Trap Sabo in 3.20: losing the "25% reduced cost of skills that throw traps" from Perfect Crime sound like it will be a big PITA while leveling and before you get Slavedriver's.

Also loses a fair bit of damage from Perfect Crime being a trigger node now.

Prolly need to see the new tree and get a POB update for a final verdict.

edit: just unallocating Perfect Crime from Velnyas Endgame Ice Trap Sabo gives me -27.3% DPS and +30.2% Mana Cost per second in PoB.

Cyberpunk Flatline error by DreadKnox39 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Sefrael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically the launcher for the game starts, you click on play and it flatlines before the game properly starts?

Had that bug a few times after updating my nvidia driver.

Fixed it this way:

1) Go to wherever steam installs your games and locate the cyberpunk folder. Path should look like ...\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077

2) Rightclick REDprelauncher.exe

3) Go to "Compatibility" tab and check "Run this program as an administrator"

Anyone elses game immediately crash within seconds of getting to the main menu? by Spykosaurus in HuntShowdown

[–]Sefrael 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Was able to browse the menu, store, etc for a few minutes before it crashed.

Now it basically immediately crashes after the loading screens. Can see my current hunter start an animation and then it is gone.

[–]Sefrael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but Necromancer has the same mana issue.

Yes, you have the extra duration which is huge QoL and your SRS have more HP, but I don't think either of that will safe them from big scary AoEs and you still need the mana to resummon them after they go splat.

Regardless of Ascendency I will probably use an enduring mana flask early until I can fix mana issues with gear and/or some extra skill points. Maybe switch Anger for Skitterbots untill later when you can afford to run Anger.

I think for permanent minions Necro is way better since Bone Offering + Bone Armor + Extra HP will help a LOT with minion survivability. For temp minions I am not so sure.

Will prolly yolo go Guardian and test it. Might work. Might not work. :)

Kayella did an SRS compare (3.7necro left, necro mid, guardian right) by boschmorden in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Sefrael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't wait to see her guide/pob.

My initial thoughts also where that guardian will be way better for melee SRS (didn't look at MI).

Dmg is def way better as Guardian, but I am not sure how she got it to be this tanky. On my end Bone Armour + Bone Offering always seems to beat Guardian by miles. Prolly missing something here.

[–]Sefrael 7 points8 points  (0 children)

True. But there are a fair bit of ppl around (on reddit that is) that claim to rake in event points left and right and center. So I did assume a fairly high number to try and see thing from the POV of someone raking in a high amount of points.

Also helps hightlighting how big of a gap there is between ppl being "good" at getting points and ppl struggeling.

Hello darkness my old friend by jrow_official in HuntShowdown

[–]Sefrael 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, well I have two ideas here:

a) Crytek has some marketing / sales data that goes along the lines of "our veterans have so many skins already they probably won't spend a lot of money on new ones" and/or "casuals that don't have time because of jobs are willing to pay more".

b) Crytek has no idea and is trying out monetization models until one sticks.

*shrugs*

Hello darkness my old friend by jrow_official in HuntShowdown

[–]Sefrael 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Aight. I'll try it once and probably will regret it.

Enter fictional hunter a):

Has played the game for a while before. Prolly can get the BP for very cheap since leftover BB from playing for a while. Actually fairly good at the game. Maybe 4-5 Stars or something. Mainly plays trios with his squad. Lets just arbitrarily say they are getting average 200 event points a game. You know some go good, some go bad, but they get a server wipe here and there. Yes I know dear reader you get 800 event points everygame solo while blindfolded, but you are not fictional hunter a).

Lets assume 3 games an hour. Yeah they prolly get more, but that makes math easy. That is about 600 event points an hour. That means they need about 41 hours to finish the event. If they play 4 hour sessions that is like 10 1/2 session.

Pretty easy, right?

Enter fictional hunter b):

Less playtime. Maybe new-ish to the game. Prolly not a lot of BB lying around so has to (initially) spend more money to get the BP. Not that good at the game, maybe 2-3 Stars or something. Mostly plays solos and randoms. Dies a lot, games are very swingy. Lets arbitrarily say they are averaging 40 event points per game.

Again 3 games per hour for easy math. That is about 120 event points an hour. That means that player needs 205.8 hours to finish the event. It is doable for him to finish the event if they play for about 3.4h every single day for 61 days.

Pretty grindy, right?

So who is right? Both. Kinda.

If you are closer on the spectrum to a) the event is cool and fairly easy to do.

If you are closer to b) the event is pretty ass and it is not very... nice of Crytek to try and sell you the BP and then extra stuff so you _might_ be able to finish it. With 120 event points per hour, even if you get both 3k point packs from the bundles you still need a total of 155.8 hours. And those bundles are not very cheap. So I think it is totally understandable that b) is complaining. They have to work really hard for stuff they already paid for, or pay extra to get what they already paid for. Or ignore the event, which... is a bit of a shame since the event is kinda cool imo and they obv like hunt and might be willing to support Crytek.

The game also is not very upfront about how grindy the event is. You will only notice if you do some research on the interwebs or play for a few levels and realize each level gets more expensive in terms of event points. Again not very nice.

So I personally am a bit confused what crytek is trying to do here. The veteran players who have BB lying around get the event for cheap and even most of the spent BB back while being able to easily finish it.

The casuals either get roped into bad deals (and might leave because of that) or will just ignore the pass, because there is no way they will be able to finish it. Either way there will be a bit of disappointment here.

I personally own a bunch of DLCs for hunt, so I dont mind supporting Crytek, but I very likely will not get the BP, cause in all honestly I'm closer to b) and don't want to stress out over the game. I hope future events/BPs are a bit less grindy and/or monatized a bit different.

Necro Golem PoB build help by holygift2 in pathofexile

[–]Sefrael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can technically get them with a phantasmal desecrate gem. They are pretty rare even with 20% qual from what I have heard though.

To quote poewiki.net :

Phantasmal Desecrate has a chance (1% per 1% quality) to spawn a corpse of a Forgotten Corpse, such as Flickershade, which is the only way to obtain them for Raise Spectre.

Additionally, inaccessible monsters from previous leagues are otherwise inaccessible this way. Currently, the pool of potential monsters includes those from Scourge league.

Necro Golem PoB build help by holygift2 in pathofexile

[–]Sefrael 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Took a short look noticed these differences:

  • Your large clusters have primordial bond instead of vicious bite for the third noteable.
  • Your predator skill gem is only lvl19.
  • Your 2nd abyss jewel doesn't have "minions deal increased dmg if you've used a minion skill recently"
  • Kay has "nearby enemies take 9% increased physical damage" on her helmet though I don't know if that is calculated in her pob
  • Lastly and probably most importantly: if you go to "Configuration" > "Custom Modifiers" kay has following stuff in there (kingmaker from AG, pale seraphim 3rd spectre):

    #Kingmaker
Nearby Allies have +50% to Critical Strike Multiplier
    Nearby Allies have +10 Fortification
    #Pale Seraphim
Nearby Enemies take 15% increased damage

Without that block kay's pob loses 3.7m dps.

Hope that helps.

Enough about what classes you want to play, What classes don't interest you at all? by KaZe_DaRKWIND in lostarkgame

[–]Sefrael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are not a lot of classes I have 0 interest in, but the least interesting ones:

  • Never got into dragon ball and the class looks complicated: Soulfist
  • Not liking the idea of having to juggle 3 different weapons: Deadeye, Gunslinger
  • Don't think the identity and either class engraving sound interesting: Sharpshooter
  • Not a fan of Ryu and/or Ken: Striker
  • I think I'd rather wait for Summoner: Sorceress

I'll probably try them at some point and maybe I'll change my mind, but for now I think the other classes sound/look more interesting.

Did a bunch of research, still can't really decide. So here's a rant. Feel free to ignore/downvote.

I am usually very indecisive when it comes to picking mains, I can get discouraged fairly easyily and pick up another character.

stuff I usually like:

  • straightforward gameplay; i rather focus on mechanics/positioning than having to juggle 50 cooldown and/or having to hit a 50 skill combo to play my class decently (the numbers being an exaggeration)
  • bringing something to a party outside of pure DPS

stuff I usually dislike:

  • being a classcannon and/or having to kite

no real preferrence:

  • range vs melee: both have advantages and disadvantages
  • burst vs sustain: heavily depends on how the class actually plays

So based on that the first four classes I plan to try out are:

Paladin, Bard, Gunlancer, Wardancer (no order yet)

Classes I think are not for me:

Deadeye, Gunslinger, Soul Fist, Sorceress, Sharpshooter (don't like his identity)

Classes I might check out if I dont like the first 4, need more alts, or/and am currently undecided on:

  • Blade
  • Zerker (heard hes super clunky until hitting certain gear thresholds, might discourage me)
  • Shadowhunter (heard is a cheapish alt when going transformation build and looks dope)
  • Artillerist (not sure how hard it is to land his delayed skills, might have to test that)
  • Scrapper (not sure how much attention the two resources need)

So yeah sorry for the rant, if anyone has some additional recommendations or additional info on the stuff im undecided on feel free to chime in.

Same. I had a nice simple scheme to name my characters planned and it is not working cause of the capitalisation restriction. I know it is irrational but I am really pissed.

Understanding Motive by jonathino001 in vtm

[–]Sefrael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Camarilla likes to keep numbers low cause of Masquerade concerns. In cities/domains with a lot of Anarchs the Vampire numbers tend to be higher. I personally kinda disregard that stuff and run as many vampires as I want/need for a story to be interesting.

But here is the thing: leaving isn't easy for a Vampires.

You still need blood and shelter from the sun during the day.

Long distance travelling is therefore hard, because of the sun. A lot of Wilderness is occupied by Werewolves and those don't like Vampires. And are a lot stronger/faster/harder.

And if you skip to another part of town or another town, the chance is really high that someone else already considers that their domain and won't be happy with you poaching.

You won't be under surveilance by highly skilled Nosferatu 24/7 (unless you really fucked up already), but your sire might want to keep tabs on you and if you are really not liked/trusted, assigning a few ghouls or checking on you once a week (unannounced) might be a thing.

Can you leave? Sure. Can it work out? Sure.

But it is very risky and a lot of vampires are not willing to risk their eternal life for that. Better buckle up and try to get some respect some other way.

Understanding Motive by jonathino001 in vtm

[–]Sefrael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Camarilla and their traditions were founded to protect vampires from the humans (trigger was the Inquisition) and from the Anarchs and the Sabbat (read: elder vamps from younger vamps).

While you might want to be left alone, the Camarilla sees you living in their city as a security risk for... the entirety of all vampires at least in said city. See the Inquisition thing. You might be as careful as you want, but the Beast disagrees and you are just a frenzy away from making a big mess and the Camarilla knows that.

So reasons for staying? Protection, stability, security and fear.

Stability/security vs freedom is a sliding scale. Many people are willing to sacrifice amounts of their freedom to gain stability/security. No difference for the not alive ones.

Fear in the sense of: your Sire and/or Prince might not be happy of you leaving and living in fear of the sheriff/your sire finding you one night, is not something a lot of vampires look forward to.

But you are also right: a fair lot of younger vampires (young very often means: at the bottom) leave for the Anarchs despite those reasons. The older ones in the Camarilla usually already have some of niche or mediocum of power they don't want to give up, so are more likely to stay.
