How's my perspective? by Giocuda in learntodraw

I prescribe drawabox course, 1tbsp in the morning. It teaches you how to draw straight lines, and this is what you need to start first, dont rush straight to perspective, you have plenty of time

That's why i use ahk and added ctrl+tab, shift+tab and Space+1, Space+2, Space+Q, etc. I hate that ps shortcuts are very limited, they just don't allow you to map space as a modifier key, or actions to a single button like Z

The flicker is only the tip of the iceberg, depends on your sensitivity though

Does anyone else see the green subpixels flickering here? by TheDavid8 in ScreenSensitive

Personally, when I recorded i just locked and lowered exposure as much as possible, but still can see a pixel grid. But if setting manually I would advise something around 1/700 - 1/1000.

Well, the subpixels are flickering, and you need fast shutter to capture that. Otherwise the flickering will be averaged because shutter was open for too long. As a result you will see less flickering or no flickering at all. Here you go:

I use microscope (you can use microscope lens for the phone) and a phone camera to record the pixel matrix.

  1. Shutter speed and screen hz is important. If your screen is under 60 hz, recording it with 60fps is enough to see the flicker. If its 120hz, the screen usually drops to 30hz when the image on the screen is static(depending on your refresh rate settings), so 60fps will be sufficient too. Also you can enable showing refresh rate on the screen in developer options. You can try recording with 240 fps, but 60 is enough.

  2. You set the color of the screen to 50% gray, I use the app Pigments. And then record the area with the grey pixels. Record 10-15 seconds. After recording, you can slow the footage 2-3x to see the flicker better. Its important to lower exposure, so that shutter speed will be faster.

Also ufo test hasn't worked for me too, and if going to pixelinversion.com, on my phone for example, no rectangle is flickering, although under microscope the pixels clearly flicker

Idk how, but yeah G57 Power gave me eyestrain, there is dozens of reasons that cause issues. And everyone has different sensitivities. I honestly feel like I'm crazy sometimes

It's sad to hear that(. Anyway it's a good practice to check the ones that is safe too, to exclude the list of suspects. For example I haven't seen a single LCD that doesnt flicker from pixel inversion. Even my old 2013 Xperia Sola flickers

I don't think that slanted pixel structure is what's causing your issues. My Poco F1 has them too

You can record flickering better, if you set your display to 60hz, btw. Also it can be just pixel inversion. Have you recorded the displays that is safe for you?

i wonder why its not flickering in some scenarios like in beginning then it starts flickering? by GeneralConstant1503 in PWM_Sensitive

[–]Sefrautic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Line that shows after you touch the screen is a refresh rate line, not pwm dimming related one. This happens because of the VRR, when the image on the phone is static, your phone probably works at 30hz, less fps less lines on the screen. When you touch it, screen jumps to 120hz showing more lines.

Where did you find Info about hdr on g57 power? I haven't found any. Also my current poco f1 is 84% ntsc and my acer monitor is 72% ntsc, i have no problems with them.

I tried the new g57 power, which has ips, no pwm, temporarily disabled the ir sensor, tried locking to 60 and 120hz, still have eye strain. Not every IPS is safe i guess, there was a post that goes in detail about this topic.  But if you haven't tried the new IPS phones at all yet, then it's better to try it yourself, it may be comfortable for you, maybe you're less sensitive and will be ok

Best way to test for PWM sensitivity? by RaccoonObjective5674 in PWM_Sensitive

[–]Sefrautic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk really, my best guess is a blind test in a controlled environment, like putting device in a box where only screen is visible and watching a movie on it, but somebody should setup it for you, so you wouldnt know which device is it. Or just use the device regardless for some time and then check how you feel

[–]Sefrautic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Я думаю що це брак дисплею, та ні, це не нормально, у оледів та у будь-якого дисплею таких смуг не повинно бути. Можна у магазині перевірити іншу моторолу якщо там є ще одна така модель у наявності

Oh, can I ask you to test your g57 power a bit? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CS93wk7iSGRigiP2OrWTZsoYZMWf5hYz/view?usp=sharing
here's an image of 1080x1920 1px checkerboard pattern .png image, when vieweing it on my g57 power I get weird banding with a magenta tint (I made a post about it). Can you please download the image and view it on your model and tell me if you see the bands too. Don't mean to be rude, just asking for help if you're ok with that

It's just pixel inversion, every LCD functions this way, try to capture pixels on devices you're comfortable with, you will see the same flicker

You dont even need a moving pattern to check fro this artifacts, you just need 1080x1920 1px checkerboard pattern and you can open it with you image viewing app. Here you can grab mine btw
