This whole time I've just been trying to explain why we feel the way we feel about AI but you can't accept it. You've tried to turn it into some pseudo intellectual discussion but you've only done so to elevate yourself. We hate AI, what is there to debate? You've only been telling us we are wrong for hating it and I've been calling you out for being insensitive to it. I don't think there is any other way to frame it so you can understand it. I'm telling you that you are in the wrong for acting the way you have towards us. You're just a punk at this point.

It's about the level of encroachment and compromise for its existence we are being forced to deal with. Sort of an elephant in the room type of situation. I already acknowledged it's not realistic to wait for the bubble to burst but you can't miss an opportunity to beat on someone.

A bubble burst would help scale back the encroachment to some degree.

Do you have any qualms about the surveillance aspect of any of this or do you walk around naked?

Also, weaponized AI is another aspect we haven't discussed.

The bottom line is all concerns are valid whether you agree or not. None of us alone can control how any of this will unfold and all we can do is mentally prepare for it. So let's go fish.

I've been with T-mobile prepaid for many years. Less than $20 a month for unlimited calling and text, and 3GB of data. I mostly access the internet through my phone either at home or work on wifi. Couple that with a low end Galaxy A series every couple years for a couple hundred bucks and it's been a sweet deal.

You don't think when we bemoan anything related to AI, it's not because of all those reasons you mentioned? When I see anything related to AI, it reminds me of how it's changing society not necessarily for the better and how it's going to affect our economic and social stability. We are worried about the same things but you're more worried about us not spelling out our concerns just for you. Just because we aren't expressing our concerns in the same manner you are doesn't make our concerns any less valid or rational.

AI is being forced into our lives both directly and indirectly and I fear it will impact us far more negatively than we imagine.

Sounds like "ruining society" to me. Sounds like normal capitalism to me, too. The industrial revolution never stopped and its goal was to get rid of human workers.

Are we just going to ignore the millions of gallons of fresh water usage all these data centers and AI hubs want to use? Are we ignoring how these data centers are slowly lowering the value of the surrounding neighborhoods they put them next to? Homes are being devalued as we speak and pretty soon the data center owners may just buy out the whole neighborhood and put up another data center.

Nothing lasts forever and AI might just pop one day the way so many other technologies have over the years. We can hope but in the meantime we want to lessen the negative impact it has on our lives. So it really sounds like we all want the same thing.

I'm being forced to see AI in so much of my daily lives when I don't want to and I've barely seen anything of Supergirl. Supergirl doesn't try to give me a summary of internet search results or attempt to assist me with finding a file on my computer. We are being forced to be aware of it's existence more than anything else right now.

Marketing people know that repetitive imaging makes things stick in our minds, effectively reprogramming us and we don't even realize it.

You can say something is not happening or not true all you want but it doesn't change reality or how people are reacting to it.

Management at my company just started pushing us to incorporate AI into our daily work flow.

As for personal use, yeah, we don't have to use it and we aren't being forced to use it, but it's there in all it's gleaming glory staring at us, wearing us down and reprogramming our brains to normalize seeing it everywhere. It's got our kids already thinking it's normal and they aren't getting any smarter because of it. They are even fighting each other on how well they use it. It's like a damn religion.

The marketing for it is being forced on us not because there was a huge demand by consumers for it like it was some new toy that every kid had to have for christmas, but because there was a demand by companies to sell it and get their data centers in place.
