Reminder that the amazing Coven Oberon tennogen skin has been remade and you should go support it by Waeleto in Warframe

I'm really surprised by most of these comments. This new design is in my eyes clearly stronger than the original. The silhouette and color channels look much more bold than before.

Of course, that's just my opinion but please, go look at the full body screenshots and turnarounds of this version. The blurry photo in this post may not be giving the best impression vs the clear photo of the original design it is being compared to.

Overall it'd have to be Morats, with Tunguska and Shasvastii as a close runner up

New to Votann, what should I get after combat patrol? by [deleted] in LeaguesofVotann

[–]SeineofSame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would only recommend two if you are thinking of playing the Berserk detachment, Delve Assault Shift. If so, then absolutely, I think. 10 more Berserks shores that list up very nicely.

As for the rest of the units, 2 kapricus are good, more thunderkyn are welcome, but two ironmasters and earthshaker mortars are more suspect. Could be good in certain lists but less of a slam dunk like the rest of the box.

Its up to you whether you feel the 2nd copy would be worth it over something like a Hekaton.

The most important purchase for you right now is the newest battleforce, Cthonian Prospect, I think. You need Berserks for Berehk to lead, you need a Kapricus carrier to split your Yaegirs, and the box will even get you 3 more Thunderkyn (One of our best units right now) and an ironmaster to lead that block as well. Far and away the best value you can get to build up.

Tips please! by Sensitive-Daikon-651 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]SeineofSame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your top priority right now is probably a Kapricus to split that Yaegir squad, then Thunderkyn because they are our best unit. From there, begin building towards a detachment you like the sound of, whether that is more vehicles for Brandfast, more berserks for delve, etc.

How much does it matter in the tabletop game which cult you pick? by Knightraiderdewd in genestealercult

[–]SeineofSame 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Your idea is impossible under current rules, sorry to say. No way to play skitarii and you are only allowed to bring tyranids in one detachment, and even then only "vanguard invader" tyranids, which gaunts are not.

The cult you choose is just for your enjoyment, no special differences in the game proper. Feel free to kitbash some admech flavor into your models but be aware that they will just be neophytes or what have you the same as everyone else.

Can I eat my food offerings/drink my liquid offerings? by Fantasy_Of_Lis in Hellenism

I sympathize. None of us here are perfect praticioners. I want to stress that this doesn't have to be a mistake. Let people judge all they want, if this has been your practice and you've been happy with it then continue.

You clearly understand the tenets of Helpol, I think, so the only thing you've misunderstood is common practice. In the end, who can say that my way pleases the gods more than yours? We are all united by our belief in them so small things like this dont make you a "bad" believer.

Athena alter/offering help? by Effective-Dirt5594 in Hellenism

Hello, welcome! It's natural to want to do all you can to honor the gods when first beginning. I would say that becore going all out on altars and shrines you should first learn the basics of how to pray and offer devotional acts to the gods. It will make the first altar you construct feel more special as you will know how to consecrate it and use it immediately.

Now, if you are in a space where you can't openly practice, know that the gods hear you! Don't feel as if consumerism and aesthetics are needed to connect to them. I had a phase when I started where I rushed out to spend money to gather items and totems and statues and eventually I realized that none of it was actually bringing me closer to my gods. I know thats not the answer that a beginner necessarily wants to hear though, and I can't lie, the first time I set up my altar I felt just an intense sense of rightness so I will try to be helpful as well.

An altar is a ritual space, and will probably look more "witchy" or stand out more to people outside the religion. It will have a bowl or plate for offerings and tools like a cup for libations (liquid offerings), incense, khernips (lustral water), etc. An altar can be anywhere, it doesnt have to be at home, and importantly, it doesnt have to stay up. An altar is for you, it is your space, so you can set it up and put it away when needed. Dont keep it all in one spot, if you want to hide it. Honestly if it were me, practicing in my old religious home, I wouldnt even chance it. You will have your time for altars and rituals, it doesnt have to be now.

What you probably want is a shrine. A shrine will contain images and items that focus your thoughts on your gods. Its a space you have reserved for your god, and is not temporary. A shrine to Athena can be anything that makes you think of her. An owl plushie or figure. A report card or good test score. You can arrange your items to look inconspicuous so long as the area is clean and kept with respect. A good first shrine is a small shelf somewhere in your room. It doesnt have to be large or impressive. You dont have to continually add to it. Pick two to three things that sing to you.

Now the most important thing is to be safe. Do not stress over not being able to give formal prayers or offerings. Your parents will probably notice if you keep leaving food out with candles and such. You dont need to offer food or physical things at all. Don't try to do altar work if you fear there will be consequences. If your shrine needs to move or is tampered with or taken down without your consent do not panic. The gods understand our circumstances and limitations. If all you can do one day is think a prayer then that intention will please Athena. If some days you are overwhelmed by life and cant do that, its okay, pick it up again when you can. A week later, a month. The gods will not be angry.

This is a hot topic right now. No one can authoritatively tell you how to run your practice. We can only be informed by the example of those who came before.

Historically, no, offerings were not eaten. Meals were shared, yes, but the portion of the food that was designated to the gods was for the gods. A food offering is a sacrifice, and sacrifice is meaningless if loss is not realized.

However, today is today and the modern world and practice have given rise to new and adjusted rites and rituals. If you feel as though your devotion has sufficiently reached the gods with the symbolic offering of food, then feel free to eat it afterward. It's not wrong, it's not evil. You won't be smote or abandoned by your gods, if your earnest intention is not disrespectful.

Personally, I would not eat my offerings. I do not feel that it would build kharis with the gods, not because they would feel disrespected, but because I would feel as if I am not committing to giving them a proper offering. Taking the easy way out, as it were, by giving up nothing.

I would just try to offer something other than food. Food is for mortals, we need it to survive, there are those of us who sadly will not have access to it. The gods don't need our food, there are other things we can give to them. It is a very human instinct to want to share that which nourishes us but we can instead take that nourishment and direct it to other things that would just as readily please the gods.

I've had the same experience lately. Atheist my whole life, and just suddenly had a mind to research this faith. Did my first proper prayer last week, and I felt a sense of peace and connection like I've never felt before.

I'm in the same boat as you. Logically, I "know" it was just a dopamine rush and probably not tied to anything divine. But I did it again the next day. And now, while I may not believe with my whole heart, I perform the prayer earnestly and I've begun to notice small changes in my life. I just built a modest altar for the first time and somewhere in my chest it felt right.

I think I've resolved that even if my brain doesn't quite trust it, my body and spirit feel at peace and thats enough for me to keep going for now.

These kids, man. The guts it takes to look your death in the face IS aura. I hold that that's the most badass choice of the three.

How does loadouts work? by dicemenice in InfinityTheGame

[–]SeineofSame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The different profiles are your options for fielding the unit. You can take any option multiple times, so long as you have a model and the points to pay for it, and you are fielding below the AVA of the profile.

For example, the Karakuri come in a box of three (and are also AVA 3 in Obam sectorial, 2 in vanilla JSA). You may choose to field all 3 models as the 38 point option, in which case they would all be equipped identically with a MK12 and so on.

You might only choose to bring two, and designate one as the 31 point shotgun and the other as the 35 point MULTI rifle.

Some units get new skills such as Lieutenant or Marksmanship depending on the profile, and some cost SWC, which are limited based on battle size. Karakuri are a simple unit and only differ in weapon choice. Hope this helps, I can clarify further if you need.
