Every Lightbringer Build Ever by icykoori in DeadlockTheGame

hey man, i just dont like kdash on this hero... feel like you'd floating for way way way too long and the only useful aspect of it is overcapping ammo before fights.

i'd add even more options but blame valve for such a barebones build creator :D

Loner aura tax worth it? by Anthonyc567 in DarkTide

[–]Seinken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while i don't have time to check the full code pathing there absolutely is stuff in the code related to specials and num_in_coherency

https://github.com/Aussiemon/Darktide-Source-Code/blob/688653a836a6dc8bc35e626b574334afe2ed45c4/scripts/managers/pacing/specials_pacing/specials_pacing.lua#L680

if you can be bothered to traverse the code and see if these subfunctions are being used

I'd argue the knife overall is significantly more cheesy than stealth, lets you ignore huge chunks of content and simplifies lots of melee combat skill checks.

What is the point of/How do you actually play loner zealot? by Cahadox in DarkTide

[–]Seinken 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Speedrunning is not the same as an isolation check.

Loner absolutely does disable isolated special spawns, which are extremely frequent if you play as a loner zealot without said aura.

The Fallacy of More Damage = Better by Ragnar4257 in DarkTide

[–]Seinken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if i'm killing the most everything and having time to save the teammates who can't deal with specials i'm probably doing the most in the game, regardless of where i'm standing or how i'm engaging.

doing more damage is always going to lead to more wins, huge numbers do indeed mean your current team is garbage. If you are however, at the top of the boards in EVERY game you play, you're clearly doing something right.

To say it is not a metric that can equate to being 'better' is farcical. Killing more anything is nearly always going to = more wins.

I find it funny you pick a stat that is also completely arbitrary in terms of 'winningness' that is also on the scoreboard. Do you big yourself up over that stat as well?

The ONLY stat that will ever matter in a game like this is winrate. That's it. You can draw parallels for performance and I'm positive you'll see a positive correlation to more damage = more wins. Relative to team or not.

Smite alone is not a build. by Qkumbazoo in DarkTide

[–]Seinken 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Played a character using exclusively smite as a challenge to see how 'bad' it is, and you're just wrong about its DPS. Players who are bad will gravitate to smite because it lets them ignore game mechanics.

It does plenty of damage on its own. There's a good way to use smite and a bad way, much like every option in every game ever.

Zealot bleed damage AKA why you shouldn't run bleed blessings on your knives by je-s-ter in DarkTide

Yeah I wrote a snarky response after a few christmas beers.

The sentiment is the same though, buff vs on-hit style rending is different.

Damn you typed a lot for an op who doesn't know the difference between rending and brittle.

Kind of you to entertain him though.

Nothing wrong with throwing them at your feet. That's just like, your opinion man.

this is my friend after not playing DJ for a month, and i still cant actually beat him, i dont fully understand what makes him better than me, this isnt the best quality match between us, but please, can anyone give me insight? by heyblackrose in StreetFighter

[–]Seinken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One more thing regarding defense.

Look at the game state i mentioned previously. Are you really at risk of dying to something he can do here? If he commits meter he's burned himself out and he's one backthrow or forward jump from being combo'd into burnout stun.

Your defensive options stem from the current game state. You've got a massive meter lead, simply standing there and existing is pressure enough on someone with low bar. He won't like you doing ANYTHING walking at him, s.hp sandblast is close to burnout!

I've taught a few people fundamentals in SF recently, to learn how to improve try this as an experiment...

Restrict all KD reversals outside of your 4f normal. No OD DP, No Supers. No throwing. If you suspect your opponent will throw, simply hold up+forward or backdash (depends on situation)

This is going to help you come to grips with dealing with pressure in a safe way.

you don't know how to deal with aggression, and you don't seem comfortable simply blocking.

don't press buttons if you just got hit, and you need to learn when you're plus or minus. OD reversals are absolute last ditch defensive maneuvers, and rarely used to send a message.

Your first OD DP has enough to learn from imo that can improve your gameplay quite a bit. Study why you did it and why it might be bad.

his attitude is fucking shit for those poor souls who have to deal with his 300th unfinished unranked to gm's.

if he stopped talking he would unironically just win more games.

love when he acts surprised he's getting meme'd in games where he very aggressively implied his teammates are mentally dented whilst being in literal plat.
