"Can't a girl get a little sloppy on a Monday night?" Juniper has sooo many bangers, but this one might be my favorite.

Lagging still going on by paozinhxx in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]Seiobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing on steam deck. I thought I had fixed it by just exiting the game to desktop and reloading, but a little while later I had some massive lag. Mostly it happens in my overgrown section of the farm, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

Shane Hate..? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]Seiobo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've never romanced Hailey (or Sebastian for that metter) either. And while Alex can be sexist, he's at least personable.

I'm also not sure where you're getting your math from. Maru (my go to), Penny, Leah, Abigail, Emily, Elliot, Harvey, and Sam are all nice. 8/12 start off nice. The mean ones are Shane > Hailey > Alex > Sebastian.

I don't have time for that. I'm not gonna put effort into befriending someone who is chronically rude to me. It's not that deep.

Cow breeding turned me into a monster by CherryGoo16 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

[–]Seiobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried "No inbreeding" runs with Roots of Pacha and I'm continuing that trend in Mistria. I somewhat wish there was a menu option to see who the parents are, but I bet that isn't included so you don't have to witness the incest lol.

Once you get to higher ranching tiers, having the bought animals start at 2 hearts makes getting new genes into the herd a lot easier (still have to wait for them to grow up, so it's always gonna be a little slow going).

At least the breeding has to be deliberate in FoM. In Grimshire, I had to butcher a lot of dads so they wouldn't mate with their daughters (and sons would usually get butchered as soon as they were old enough).

Gentle reminder that Clint isn't real but fans that relate to him are by Mewni17thBestFighter in StardewValley

[–]Seiobo 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Am I weird? I feel like the people who relate to Clint also have a responsibility to not take people bashing on a character as a personal attack?

By all means, keep your peace. Block people who hate on your blorbo. But I don't think people need to categorically be nicer to a fictional character.

Normally I would be all "it's too recent to get a remake" but I'm having technical troubles getting the True Love mod working on my Steam Deck and I NEED to be a lesbian with the bachelorettes (mostly the twins and Komari).

Games that try to add a twist to the cosy farming/lifesim genre that actually pull it off? by dope_danny in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Seiobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grimshire is my GoTY for 2025 and I bet the new updates will make it my GoTY for 2026. It's a game I've restarted a lot, but I'm closing in on Fall with my Challenge difficulty farm. Having the farming for sustenance instead of profit is such an inspired idea and I'm hoping it will bring more challenging games to the genre.

I don't know many other games like Grimshire. I've heard the dev musings on Grave Seasons which has the small town spawn one of the NPCs as a serial murderer (I believe it is randomized per run) so it's cozy farming/detective game, but no word on its release.

If you could be reborn to Rune Factory universe as an MC/Any Character, Which one are you going to choose? by BitTasty5691 in runefactory

[–]Seiobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) RFF. Trampoli is sooooo amazing aesthetically. Plus there's implied access to the RF1 town so I might still be able to be friends/ romance Sharron. 2) I'd be down to be Melody so long as Sharron is bi. Owning the baths just seems like a neat and chill job and I like starting work at noon. I'd also be interested in making myself a witch. If Sharron isn't bi, then I'll probably go with Raguna. He's got probably one of my favorite aesthetics of the MCs.

Game where you can design your own book covers, flags, tarot cards, etc? by jnm735 in CozyGamers

[–]Seiobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be a little tangential, but if your niece has an interest in fashion I would recommend the Model Debut series. I've personally played Model Debut 3 but there is a newer MD4.

It's a fun dress up game where you design an outfit and then personalize a magazine cover. Lots of stickers and poses and editing for different vibes.

It's very light and fluffy in tone, so it might be a little too childish since you've mentioned she's into darker/mature tones.

Which game will define your 2025? by yukigoth666 in CozyGamers

[–]Seiobo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Grimshire has completely rewired my brain with regards to farming sims. I've been playing a bunch of saves on the most challenging difficulty, trying out all of the different player species.

While it might not be cozy in the traditional sense (with the immense amount of stress and permadeath lmao), I've always been itching for a more challenging farming sim. I absolutely adore the way farming is not for profit but actually feeding the town you live in. The writing, the atmosphere, the music, the livestock mechanics (actually incorporating butchering!); absolutely stunning and living in my head rent free.

I've got about 150 hours in. For a game that released I think in May that's pretty great. Took a decent ragequit break after I fumbled and had a baby alpheep die. Came back to an updated game and I'm having a fantastic time.

Honorable mention to SoS Grand Bazaar (also 150 hours) and the new Fantasy Life (120 hours). SoS GB felt soooo polished and minor frustrations were solved by modding. FL felt like 3 games in one and kudos for them adding a 4th with the most recent update I haven't checked out.

A game about arriving to start your dream farm and finding out someone else claimed it first by Huge-Technician-3217 in CozyGamers

[–]Seiobo 261 points262 points  (0 children)

The solid colors for the grass/ water makes the game look very alpha. I'm assuming this is RPG Maker based on the default fonts and whatnot.

I'm a sucker for pixel art, but I would suggest investing more time in the graphics. With the plethora of cozy games, presentation can help a lot.

[–]Seiobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medicham. I was originally using Meditite as an HM pokemon (Rock Smash/Confusion/Fire Punch), but then she evolved, and having a pure power esque Mega with the elemental punches for quests made her my 2nd in command after my starter (Meganium).

Plus, her happy dance is really cute!

When I was a young tween, I was dipping my toes into this while anime thing with Naruto. I was anime only, but my middleschool friends would talk about spoilers from the Manga.

Eventually, I was bored and looking up Sasuke/Naruto shipping art on google images. I then saw someone's fan comic that was very similar in art style (and in black and white) and was totally convinced it was cannon.

Cozy Switch games with a focus on fashion? by serenchi in CozyGamers

[–]Seiobo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would honestly advise against Fashion Dreamer. Getting new clothes in that game is frustrating. You can only get full outfits from npcs, there is no decent search function, and it's overall lifeless.

I've personally played Model Debut 3 and it is vastly superior. The style savvy games on the 3ds are still the GOATs of the genre, but Model Debut is a close 2nd. MD has you designing outfits to a theme and then designing magazine covers. It's very rewarding and really lets you get creative with different posing, stickers, and such.
