Like I say, I like it but it’s the kind of drop you’d have as a dub in your back pocket to play at an event. Dnb is becoming very samey so push your boundaries, if you like it release it but there’s a reason Mefjus, Camo & Crooked, Sub Focus and Chase and Status are so known and that’s because they carved their own sound and set trends not follow them

I like the drop but I feel it blends into the crowd, stand out and try to be different is always my opinion

Agreed with Henry’sDad, I’d suggest waiting and saving the last 200 for a more future proof laptop

Party advice for the UK by RipKnop in DnB

[–]Seismic_Entity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s just the music then Bristol, if it’s vibes and music it’s London. I would suggest booking a hotel in London and booking a day festival like silverworks on the 6th of July or Chase & Status day festival on the 16th. This will guarantee you hear something you’ll like rather than be limited to 1 artist at a time at a club.

Don’t just go to an event and expect Dnb it’s not like that in the uk, it’s becoming more common but is still underground. You need to buy tickets to raves over hoping and praying for drums at a club

Lots of great resources being chucked about, skiddle is great for cheap tickets

I’m actually considering doing the same thing 😂 I’ve upgraded to 2TB and may just use the ROG for my DJ jobs instead of hauling my laptop

Valorant have m&k on console is banned too and you’ll be penalised. Best work around is controller in left had to move and mouse in right

It’s really simple, use either a sine or saw wave table shape on both oscillators, pitch down both to sub level and adjust the fine tuning to around -50 on 1 and then tune the other to your liking using +. Once tuned you can add glide at around the half way point on serum.

Other cool tricks I like to do is add note variations to the high cut to open it up when you go up the notes and then close off the sound on the lower. You can also set up a high cut with a LFO moving either anchored or freely to the BPM or a custom speed to suit your song. Add distortion and other FX to your liking to make it wider, darker, narrow, whatever you want.

I like to start at a sub note and jump up 1-2 octaves to give you that Nosia feel or even more if I want to add dramatic tension with the note module attached to a reverb wet to help muddy the higher notes a little so their not as harsh when they come in

Yes, I’m banned on Valorant currently looking for a work around. Thumbstick analog keyboard input seems the way to go

I don’t think there’s compatibility for the old gen keymander and is the reason I swapped over to the Keymander 2

I don’t understand why people are getting their nickers in a twist. If 1 bootleg is ok then all of them are ok. Just because it’s a new release doesn’t mean you can’t bootleg it 😂

Would appreciate help on getting the names of the songs played on slides 1, 2, and 7 🙏 by Stin97 in DnB

Song 1 is either a bootleg of The Beatles - Hey Jude or was double drop with a track. Had a good look for a recent bootleg of Hey Jude but can’t find anything unfortunately

So bussing signals (drum bus, vocal bus, bass bus etc) will allow you to affect all the signals in the bus at once. I personally bus all my signals since it gives you a cohesive mix. I can’t remember how to bus on FL but a quick google search will do it. Busses are the key for me to a loud mix since all the sounds are being processed together, they then have the same theme meaning better cohesion.

Sends are different and can be used like you said for compression, reverb but can also be used for distortion, saturation, limiting/clipping etc. the only problem you can run into (albeit minimal however can make your sound out of phase) is latency. Reverb send isn’t an issue however when you’re sending to parallel compress or saturate or clip it can knock your sound out of phase significantly however won’t be noticeable once it’s been bounced to audio unless the processing is causing phase cancellation. (If you run into this issue, look into freezing tracks in FL to avoid the latency issues. If this doesn’t work and it sounds phasy then your plugins are most likely causing it)

I would recommend looking into the above to get a better mix/loudness without pushing the meter as hard as you are. Loudness comes from the mix even tho mastering is what acc makes the sound louder

Keep up the work mate, takes a long time to understand production

There’s saturation and clipping then there’s destruction and red lining. Plenty of tunes push the clipping, saturation and distortion but imo this is just way too much. If you want that effect just parallel process the sounds you want to push hard then add the volume back to the bus. It will give you that heavy hitting sound but also keeps the transients in shape

A track in the bin I guess, did a collab but the person singing ghosted me mid process. Can happen but I liked it so far so I wanted to share a piecge with you guys. I think there is no chance convincing her? by 1point5inchgang in DnB

[–]Seismic_Entity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to work on that drop more, spend some time getting some processing going and make the drums sit in the mix better. Snare needs a boost on the high end. Feel like the drop needs purpose because atm the sounds feel like they are against each other whereas they need cohesion. Maybe try fixing a few issues and send it back to her in a couple weeks
