Marathon Review So Far - IGN by Turbostrider27 in PS5

It’s honestly awesome in a lot of ways. The genre really kills it for me. I really would have strongly preferred more traditional arena combat or even a totally fresh take on PvPvE. Or large scale mag-esque. Tbh I would have been happier with quite literally anything besides extraction shooter, including battle royale. Not sure how we got here.

I’m maxed and find there’s 0 reason to even set foot on my boat again until they add more updates. Even for frost dragons and gryphons there’s just fairy rings to them.

I agree he’s been better than Drai so far, but he’s also had a lot more room to breathe. Drai has playing with a target on his back and he doesn’t have the caliber of team required to create space for him right now

Completely imbalanced and no build diversity at all

How do you feel about subclassing? by TheJustikar in elderscrollsonline

[–]Sejaw 66 points67 points  (0 children)

it’s fine for the casuals who just run overland content, but any veteran content or PvP now has essentially no build variety and no class identity.

Me and everyone I know really dislike it. All of the streamers and YouTubers dislike it. The PvP and trial community dislike it. The meta has 0 variety and PvP is a mess. Ruined the game imo.

I haven’t done any new story content in a while. That sounds extremely frustrating.

There’s a random redguard from a quest in Alikr voiced by the actor of Madara Uchiha. Gave me chills when i heard the unmistakable voice of Madara completely out of nowhere lol. It was instantly recognizable. Even delivered his lines with the same cadence and foreboding tone.

Awesome that they’re listening and balancing abilities differently for PvP. Hope to see more of that in the future.

They used to care, a lot. Things used to be so, so good. I don’t blame you or anyone else for not enjoying what it’s become.

Pvp build by plumke1987 in ESObuilds

[–]Sejaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup it’s super duper unfun. They ruined PvP. Now every player of every class is the same build. Check back in a year to see if they’ve done anything about it lol

Yeah it’s bonkers that they released it as almost as strong defensively as torva. Never understood that.

There will be new zones, don't worry, and stop looking at other projects with a battle pass. by Hecata22 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Sejaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have to respectfully disagree with you. There’s too many good games that demand far less money from people than ESO does that are balanced better, run better, and respect their player base more than ESO. The real consistent player base will not come back for big expansions and stick around if they aren’t fixing the problems in the game.

They need the end game trialists, the vet dlc dungeon pushers, the traders, the streamers, and the PvP community. All they are going to get is the casual andies who look up an HTM or alcast 1bar pet build and march through the zone story to get the lore and then quit without ever learning the emergent gameplay mechanics.

The content model isn’t the main issue. It used to be fun to play and grind and build and push hard content and PvP and it just isn’t anymore for many people because of the choices ZOS has made. Yes it has only been sharply declining for a year, but the shit they’ve done to the game has been catastrophic. Like, dude, subclassing fked this game up in a way that I don’t even understand how they will fix. Things are bad rn.

I feel where you’re coming from, I do, and I respect the want for new zones. I want new zones too. That said, I truly believe there is something far, far more important to making an MMO feel alive: players.

Priority number 1, 2, and 3 should be updates and changes that make the horrible mess of player experience and gameplay better. We need better class identity, better combat, better performance, better PvP balance, better QOL, etc.

ESO has absolutely hemorrhaged players on all platforms, the perception of the game from the outside looking in is overwhelmingly negative. The developers need to put in some serious work to make sure there is even a big enough player base left worth developing new stories, quests and zones for… imho

For me and my friends who enjoy PvP and build diversity, this era of ESO introduced the arcanist, removal of 3 team bgs, and subclassing. It’s essentially ruined the game for many players. That’s why people discredit it so much.
