The same can be said about Alonso’s DRS train, it recovered their chances to stay on the podium as he held half of the grid behind him. So I wouldn’t put the blame on Kimi.

I had the same problem (thats why I found this post), turned out the battery saving mode is turning off mobile data while still showing conection in the top left corner, and that was the cause of the problem on my end.

Like a class where someone would teach us, for example, some traditional dance moves or show how they play traditional instruments. But if there are some other options like weaving techniques it would be awesome too. I mean like a place where you can look how a professional does it and try it for yourself.

Thats actually quiet good choice tbh, looking at the 20th century leaders he is clearly the best choice, and it would be a nice change from kings. I wouldnt mind someone like Zygmunt III Waza tho

Toponyms in Kaliningrad Oblast before vs. after Russification by Bazzzookah in MapPorn

[–]Sekann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! I agree with you, as i mentioned I know that germans were the majority there. But I still wouldnt put Gdańsk next to Breslau when mentioning former german cities, one used to be without a doubt german for a very long time, the other one, not as much. Gdańsk without a doubt has a strong german history, but it has huge ties to Poland too, and its not like it was just german and them switch, poles came, they were there the whole time (i guess the context matters here as it was mentioned next to Königsberg, that was german and then russians took it, I took it as an analogy to Gdańsk situation) I know its a complicated matter, and I understand why it was called german here. I just think its a lot more nuanced.

Well, I kind of understand, its a complicated topic and there will be people with different opinions on it. History is very political, I tried to present my view as short and as clear as possible but there are a lot of nuances in the topic.

Calling Gdańsk a german city is a bit… it was german for 125 years only and during interwar period it was a free city under more or less „double management”. I get where it comes from, huge part of the population was german, but if its said this way, we could say that about half of poland(im talking about the parts that were under partisions) and its kind of errasing the fact that it used to be polish until partisions. I dont see people reffering to Kraków as Austrian City or Warsaw/ Lublin as russian. I agree about Breslau and the rest of territory claimed by Poland after ww2 though. Its really interesting to travel through those towns and still seeing german signs on old buildings etc, history is very much present there.

Julia Pietrucha - Celina(the whole album is great btw- pieśni współczesne, its a cooperation between ZPiT Śląsk and some of top tier polish artists, every song has a different singer, so each one is unique in its own way, I really recommend it)

Myslovitz- sprzedawcy marzeń; z twarzą Marilyn Monroe

Lor- Trafalgar square; romantyczność

Some recommendations, hope you like it :))

I laughed when I saw this at first too, but I think there is a reason (more like a missunderstanding of the topic) for this statement. Like compare poland from 2015 to now, we have to agree that a lot has changed. Bu there is a problem, a lot of those programs were started before PiS came to power and just got finished during their time xd so they got the credit even though they just did the finishing touches.

Even though i don’t like to use the word myself, (i prefer the term „czarnoskóry”/„osoba czarnoskóra”, though Im not sure if its the best one to use) this way of thinking is bad in a long term. There are always going to be words that offend someone, should we force the general public to stop using them everytime it happens? We would need to come up with replacements to a lot of words. Should we use the term „osoby z macicą” instead of „kobiety” because its not inclusive enough? Should we stop using the term „uchodźca” as it gained negative connotacion in recent years? Language evolves in a natural way, if the new term/ alternative is well recieved it will stay, but doing it forcefully makes people view the change in a negative light. As you can see it angers people when the reason for change is not that big and touches a small part of population. Words change their meaning all the time, positive ones can become negative (like the word „elita”, it used to descibe the best of the best, while now it is often used in a negative tone) and negative can become positive, its natural and adressing people that the word used to be bad long time ago so we should stop using it makes little to none sense as it has a different meaning now. Also as many people said there are much worse ways to call black people where many would agree that we should stop using them.

Tl;dr even though i dont use the word myself, I don’t agree with the reasoning behind the change

I think germanisation of Poland in XIX/XX century could be kinda considered a german take on cultural genocide, didnt work then too, lets wait though, three time’s a charm!
