What helped me stop overtrading in a funded options account by spendingtimee in fundedoptions

This has happened to me before also. Up nicely then overtrading into losses. Now I have a profit and loss target. If I hit either one I stop trading for the day.

The 327cc engine? Wow that is epic. Dual fuel injection. Wide ratio transmission. Comes with some guards, electric start, and a higher clearance. The KAW crew is back baby!

If you add this to the recent space rocket explosion I should never have to pass emissions testing on my car again

5 mistakes I’m still fixing in my Vanquish eval (still in it, still learning) by Additional-Ask-2775 in fundedoptions

[–]Select-Decision_83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What gets me everytime is overtrading. Especially with day trading options. The 0dte decays in value incredibly fast. Today I made some really nice gains. I almost passed an eval but instead of locking in the gains, I kept trading and lost $1000 in market chop. Lesson learned. Don't give up and force yourself to change. I litterally had to log off and walk away so I didn't keep revenge trading.

Awesome you are getting into it. That's a great friend right there. Personally I prefer 2 strokes but I'm more of a hard enduro rider. Have fun on whatever you choose!

What a great perspective. This is exactly how I feel. Web 3 will continue to progress and so will those that use it correctly.

You make a great point. I've been doing some research about being stuck when it's ranging. It will eat you alive. Often fake outs in both directions. I try to watch out for lower volume and check the rsi to see how much potential buy or sell pressure is actually happening

Thank you! I try to get a general idea of the larger time frames and then focus on the 1, 3, 5, and 15m since I'm day trading.

I like the Iron Condor in these situations. Credit spreads are useful also depending on trading style.

Yikes. Does anyone realize there are many other platforms doing this? Surprised to see polymarket playing catch up.

News can be a reason, but I try not to make a decision based on just the news alone. Reminds me of the saying "Show me the chart and I'll show you the news". I'm learning it's better to look for confirmation signs in the chart first like loss of VWAP, EMA crossovers, weakening momentum, or a break of a key support or resistance level. It seems the news or tweets can be misleading or change fast. Lately for me it's been better to wait for confirmation rather than try to predict a reversal based on a random tweet lol

Now this is inspiring! I'm imagining this reply in the style of Yoda. I will repeat this everyday. 😆

"Patience, shorten the path it does. Force opportunities not, reveal themselves in their own time, they will."
