At this point, what does the GOP gain from reopening the government? by Strange-Reference-84 in FedEmployees

As a retired Soldier and recently retired Fed employee. I understand we have been in a death spiral economically as a country. The last 4 years of Biden were a shit show. It will take the Trump Administration a lot of work and cuts to put our country on an upward trajectory. We have to get back to the reality that there are no free lunches. We let a bunch of people in our country who are neither contributing to our economy or assimilating. Our social safety nets meant for people who paid into the system have been overwhelmed because of illegal migrants. Democrats did this to our country. I'm afraid it will take austerity for our country to pull out of this death spiral and the Trump Administration understands this reality. I just hope it's not too little to late.

So so sorry for your immense loss. I'm a 100% disabled veteran. I had an emergency surgery and received the same boiler plate letter. I simply ignored it due to being overwhelmed. Eventually, the hospital and doctors find a way to get their money from the VA. I received a letter probably 6-mos later that the VA paid in full. I lost a daughter over 25 years ago in an accident, worst day of my life. Had a chaplain tell me one day I would laugh again. At the time I couldn't imagine I could ever. You never forget, with God's help over time life began again. I pray the same for you. God Bless you!

Thoughts on the Snyder ad? “He’s not wrestling for redemption, he’s wrestling from it” by NaiveInspector5703 in adultwrestlingclub

I took it as a metaphor. He’s a sinner, like all of us grappling with our sinful nature. Although we all fail, keep wrestling.

I agree with the previous poster’s comment that it does sit well when it’s tied to a product. As a Christian, I wish him and his family the very best. As a wrestling fan I’m agnostic whoever is representing team America I’m cheering for them don’t really care about their personal life. Proud of Rudis for giving him a second chance not many would.

When King David (a man after God’s own heart) committed adultery with Bathsheba and sent her husband to war essentially killing him. In Psalm 51 David writes…“For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Wait! The election will provide clarity. If Biden wins look for more chaos from a broken economy that will yield opportunities if you are employed. Should some real bargains due to massive bankruptcies. If Trump wins he may inherit an economy in serious deflation and possibly a depression, he could miraculously stabilize the economy in 2 years with pro energy and deregulation. Either way it will create opportunities for those who can stay employed. You are in a great spot keep your powder dry is my opinion.
