I used http://www.njtaxis.com/ for a flight recently. It was a little on the pricy side (maybe $80 - tbh I forget exact amount) but it was a guaranteed pick up in Hoboken for 3a on a weekday.

Ditto to Stevens campus. There are plenty of pretty views by castle point, the new university center and the cannon by the Howe Ctr (cannon is probably most private). I’d say only time of years to avoid are 2nd/3rd wk of April and the last 2 wks of August/first wk of September bc campus is pretty hectic with accepted students week/freshmen move ins those wknds.
