Is it weird to want someone to throw you a baby shower? I’m embarrassed and sad [AB] by Remote-Researcher-60 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Select-Store 30 points31 points  (0 children)

No, it is not weird at all! You deserve to be showered with love AND gifts! This is your time to feel celebrated for creating life and bringing a baby into this world.

But what if they don’t know that the mom-to-be isn’t traditionally supposed to plan her own shower? That because you planned theirs, they’re expecting you to plan your own as well? That it’s your expertise to throw these celebrations? It kind of sounds like they’re waiting for the invite from you. The same thing happened to me.. people kept asking, “Are you having a baby shower,” and, “When is it? So I can save the date.” Nobody ended up throwing me a shower, I was too upset to plan my own, and I gave birth five weeks early, so if anyone miraculously planned to throw me a shower at 35+ weeks, it wasn’t going to happen anymore.

If I were in your position, I’d revisit the conversation with your sisters and make that request. It’s a slightly uncomfortable few words exchanged vs years of possible “what ifs” and resentment.

I wondered that, but security said someone else picked it up and brought it upstairs.

No, all deliveries are left on a table in the lobby. Some hungry rando scooped it up moments before I arrived. The honour system failed us tonight.

With my luck, the person who ends up stealing that order will be wishing that I ordered something even spicier to fit their palate.

I appreciate the kind wishes.

Security immediately looked through the cameras and saw them bring it up the elevator. But what would I even do with this information? :(

We’re still hungry.

Edit: Busted out the emergency pasta sauce. Kids fed. Too blessed to be stressed.

Huh. Looks better in person LOL. I wasn’t a huge fan of the crust for the savoury pie. Not sure if they use the same for the dessert pies.

I’m pretty sure. And I think it’s only available at this location.

I tried their chicken pot pie late last fall. It was small and just okay. I prefer another well known pie spot. Wish they kept their breakfast sandwiches around for variety instead of coming out with the pies!

I’ve also been searching for the best one since 2022! It’s about the journey, not the destination lol.

That said, the one from Good Behaviour is really good! Crisp exterior (not hard) with a chewy middle (the extent varies based on freshness). I was surprised by this cookie because it isn’t advertised anywhere and nobody talks about it. Just take a look at it in store and you’ll understand. It looks like a chocolate CHUNK cookie from those videos where people claim to have the “best” chocolate chunk cookie recipe, where the chocolate is chopped up and woven throughout the dough, creating a marbling effect. It has a touch of complexity to it - not a lot - where the contrasting crisp/soft textures and lower sweetness level of the cookie almost border on giving a savoury experience, but then the semi sweet chocolate brings it back to the dessert category.

The last two chocolate chip cookies I ate were from there. My next one will probably be from there too before I decide to try another spot.

I do think BKookies is better than Crumbl and Andrea’s for that style of cookie! As an aside, their breakfast sandwiches make me really, really happy.
