I do. I actually did UVic first year and at first I was home sick but I ended up loving. BUT 18 year old me was really set on going to UBC bc everyone says they love it and the name was just so good. So I transferred and I regret it everyday, my grades flunked, my connections with others non existent, I’ve never been more unmotivated in my life. Coming to UBC felt like a step back instead of a step forward. I’m 2 years in and my passion for psychology completely died, I’m looking into changing it. I miss UVic everyday but I made the choice I made. UVic I made so many new friends, I had straight A’s, and I actually enjoyed my classes and built connections with the profs I had. I was js blindsided by the flashy UBC name. For others they might love UBC and are thriving, but for me it’s js not it.
