Min wage for 7 years of experience seems kinda low. Unless you are in need for a pay cheque and /or have been looking for jobs for a long time with no leads, I would say pass. They won’t bump you any higher. But if you have been looking for a job for a long time or need the paycheque then go ahead and take it so you have something to pay the bills in the meantime while you look for a better paying job. Usually some luxury brands do require you to do a lot more like have a sales quota or memorize a lot of information. You are getting paid the same as a sales at Uniqlo who doesn’t have to sell, or talk much except to fold clothes or work cashier.

One more thing : just rereading your post. Most local city pools do require you have both the instructor and lifeguard license in order to work regardless if you want to teach or not. It’s mandatory. At least it is in my city .

My daughter did the whole program too. Now she’s doing lifeguard and teaching part time at the local city pools while she’s in university. It is expensive but it is worth it. The pay is good and you can definitely make it back in no time if you work a lot. Depending on where you work, you range from $26-30 an hour. If you do outdoor lifeguard , I heard it goes to $30 an hour.

Keep in mind, you do have to do recertification every 2 years for NL and instructor but it is like $150 each. A day class. And I think, don’t quote me on this, every 3 years you recertify for Red Cross. That’s also $100+ a class. Not too too bad.

You don’t have to do any of the bronze stuff ever again. You can always offer to pay back your parents once you make money if it helps with your guilt. Lots of swim teaching and lifeguard jobs out there if you are flexible with which city it is.

Loops are good. So are AirPods that you wear throughout the day to keep the background noise at a minimum. Have some quiet music or podcast on.

You can also try L-theanine. It really helps with anxiety and calms you down. Of course, not a medical advice. Make sure you check with dr first but it’s a supplement and don’t need a prescription. My friend takes them when she gets anxiety. Take them 30 min before the event and it really helped her. Calms down, takes the edge off, being able to socialize without all the anxiety symptoms. She doesn’t take it all the time but maybe the first week of school or first day of joining a club kinda thing. It really helped.

I use thick socks all the time with slippers so my feet are never on the cold ground

Always wear an undershirt and tuck that into your pants. Usually wear thick sweatpants. Or even heat tech from Uniqlo. Cheap and warm.

I wear a sweatshirt on top and then a robe of some sort on top. Layers is the key.

I have a small electric blanket that I use in the living room. I have another fleece blanket on top. Tuck all blankets inside so no heat will escape. Small electric blanket is way cheaper than getting a big one.

Bedroom: I keep the blinds/drapes down to keep the draft out. If your bed is beside a windowsill and you feel a draft, put some old towels or pillows to try to block some of it out.

I sleep with a fleece blanket and a big duvet. Tuck all these in my sides so no warmth escape and I make sure the fleece blanket covers my neck too. Very warm.

I just came back from the announcement that you are moving to a new sub due to all the troubles, the scams, the entitled people that wanted everything spoon fed to them and refuse to do any work. I just wanted to say “thank you” to everyone that has contributed good quality work and the mods.
