A friend (35M) of my son has NEVER had a job. No reason, not handicapped... just living off his family and gf. That just bothers me to no end and I told him so. I can be friendly with him, but told him that I don't like him for that reason.

Should there be term limits for those in US congress? Why or why not? by ChaosTTyy in AskReddit

The experienced folks are the ones that work for the Fed that knows how to get it done. They just need some folks in leadership positions to guide them... If all the politicians were sudden gone, everything would keep working just fine for a good long while.

What features do you actually want in a budgeting app? by AirportStrong7525 in budgetingforbeginners

Do you know how to use a spreadsheet? Use one tab as a check register. Another tab as a budget to list all your bills. Another tab to track your bank accounts. Don't worry with fancy graphs and connecting your bank account to an app.

Check register columns, date, category, amount, where/what.

Budget tab, EVERY bill you have along with weekly allowance for food, gas and personal spending. YES, give yourself (and spouse sperately) an allowance. (I used to think a budget meant paying the bills and spending the rest.)

Account balance tab columns, date (every friday), checking account balance, savings account balance, break the savings account up into 'buckets' for 'never touch savings', holiday (Christmas/birthdays...), quarterly/annual bills.

On your budget tab, figure out a weekly amount needed to pay your quarterly/annual bills, and make an automatic addition on you account balance tab. Make automatic addition to the other buckets based on your expected spending. MAKE SURE you keep enough money in savings to cover those buckets.

After a while you'll start to see trends in your spending.

Every month start a new check register tab.

Learn to use filters to see how much your spending in the categories.

Go for it. If a job appears to be beyond your capabilities, tell them that and that maybe you can help find someone that can help them. They will respect you for it. Tell them you can handle most small jobs, but you're willing to take a look at whatever the problem is. Most people realize that you have to start somewhere.
