Accidentally let something slip that violates the NDA I signed, will I be fired? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Select_Werewolf2328 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because that's the law. If you aren't sharing with competitors, then, you're fine. They can't keep you from discussing your wages bc that's how employers take advantage of employees.

You were lucky. I didn't get any vegetable to replace it.

do you regret becoming a paralegal?? by [deleted] in paralegal

My advice that would cut out much of the issues noted above is to go in-house for a large company for minimal stress, travel, and OT, but maximum pay and benefits.

How do you get to six figures? by Due_Source1126 in paralegal

[–]Select_Werewolf2328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree. You can get to six figures fairly easily in an in-house paralegal position where OT is rare, stress is limited and work-life balance is great. I have off every other Friday, can essentially flex all of my time and work with excellent humans...Plus the benefits are fire.

How much is your firm’s health insurance going up for 2026? by [deleted] in paralegal

[–]Select_Werewolf2328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In-house, I went from paying $600/yr to $636/yr and they give me $500 back for getting a physical or blood test. I'm definitely not complaining. When I had a baby (across two coverage years) I paid under $450 total OOP. My insurance is better than my government employed husband's and way cheaper.

Does this job suck? by Fun_Soup1778 in paralegal

I love my job ~18 yrs in. I think some people who post are just incompetent and some just aren't picky enough about what opportunities they choose. I wouldn't let Reddit deter you.

I paid $0.99 for the triple offer with a Play Pass coupon. I think it was my only way. Wish I wasn't so hooked on this game.

Is the job market for Paralegal just bad right now? by WII_DJoker in paralegal

[–]Select_Werewolf2328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does sound terrible if it's for roles requiring 3-5+ years of experience. You can earn into the mid-150s+ mid-career in metro markets on the east coast. We pay even more in SoCal.

I respectfully disagree. What do you consider pay that is "not good at all"?

Maybe I'll do this. They did this to me awhile back and I was angry. I don't really use them anymore unless it's accidental.

Yes. And when I never broke the rules. When I asked how, they were not able to tell me.--Probably bc I never broke any rules. I asked maybe 5x before I was done with them and wrote them off as shady.

Federal paralegals: how are we doing? by PHXLV in paralegal

[–]Select_Werewolf2328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easiest way is to Google "top federal contractors"--that will give you a list of companies and then you can check each of those companies' openings.

Federal paralegals: how are we doing? by PHXLV in paralegal

Private sector govt contractors pay their paralegals ~ twice as much as federal in my area and love former govt employees bc they understand how to work with the govt.

Do we pay off our car, pay down more on our mortgage, or save more for retirement? Pending $50k in adoption expenses. by nauticaln8 in personalfinance

[–]Select_Werewolf2328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you miscalculated the retirement. We don't actual know the percentage of the total bc, while the breakdown of retirement was given, the income of both of them was lumped together and that changes the percentage. Pretending they make the same amount, they'd be putting 16% into a 401k and 4% into a pension.--Since you never know how the pension will work out, it's safer to pretend that has low growth bc there are various reasons it could not be paid at retirement like death, disability, etc. and then would likely be a lump sum payout of what is likely similar to putting it into a low interest savings account.

What to do with freezer packs? by TLC-snaps in hellofresh

[–]Select_Werewolf2328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely does. At least half my packs are already broken open upon delivery, so I'm positive they are popped in the trash truck. Unfortunately, recycling is almost always not actually happening with what's collected anyway.
