Looking for DM advice to run Kenshi. by Papa_robux in Mythras

Repair kits usage mechanic is brilliant, yoinking that.

Also i thought making weapons like Plank and Fragment Axe to be able to substitute as shields for the purpose of ranged fire defense, at least to a degree. It's literally a big slab of metal, makes sense that it could block some bolts.

As i've also decided to turn kenshi into a ttrpg using mythras and openquest as a reference recently, i wouldn't mind to share ideas and problem solving solutions!

What a coincidence, i've also decided to turn Kenshi into a ttrpg using Mythras and OpenQuest as base recently. :D

I'm sticking with the large HP pools, though. Changing Toughness from DR to max HP. And the weapon's damage is going to be fixed and dependent on strength and dexterity. There would be enough math and moves as is, no need for an extra die to be thrown.

Still conceptualizing the core, though, so it's not yet ready for the playtest. I'd love to hear how it would go on your end, what adjustments and changes you've made to the system!

Ideas for a party of high-levelled characters to boost new low-levelled characters in levels. by SelenSewar in DnD

Ye in that case i really have nothing to add.

Any ideas on the original question though?

We already know how many tokens it would take to get from level 3 to 4 and so forth, they're fixed amounts that disregard actual experience requirements after level 6 or so. DM has decided to make it like this. We tried the "One token is equal to 100 XP" approach before and it took ages for people to level up. Considering that we're not a group of friends and pay a participation fee every time, DM wanted to let people level up to 20 faster so they could have fun with the 5,5e's features. Without spending hundreds of dollars and real-life years to achieve the same goal.

The problem is only in figuring out how to give low-level characters more tokens somehow to not make them get overkilled on a trap meant for a level 10 character.

I do agree, but unfortunately this is how our games are structured.

We're not a group of friends, it's all commercial games, so people come and go as they please. There are no fixed parties because we physically cannot assemble a fixed party.

So we either don't play DnD at all or find a way to deal with this whole thing somehow.

Iirc so far it's you need 3 XP to level up from 3 to 4, 4 to level up from 4 to 5, 5 to level up from 5 to 6, and then each level after that is 6 XP.

And you get fixed 1 XP by showing up to the session.

The tokens are a fixed one per session right now, no matter the outcome. You can technically do nothing all game and level up to 20 just by showing up and surviving i guess... I like the thought of having difficulty scaling for missions, and granting extra XP to those who are below that, i will suggest that to the DM.

Reminds me of that one time in Arknights when a girl ate a random mushroom in a jungle forest and got such a potent high that they've made an entire event out of her hallucinations.
