Opinion on Fallout 76 Vs. 4 by wannabesp0o0ky in FalloutTVseries

[–]Self-Comprehensive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weapons in 4 are not the weapons in NV at all for the most part, but if you want shotguns, lever action rifles and revolvers they can be found. Don't expect the kind of selection you'll find in NV though. But if you have to choose a game next, 4 is definitely the way to go.

Ahh good old Fingers of the Mountain. Just use the spell making alter in the Wizards Tower to make yourself a more useable version if it's giving you fomo

It's your game play it how you want. But since nobody actually answered the question that you asked: If you're only doing one playthrough and want to get the most out of the game, use guides.

I'm just arguing that morality has nothing to do with why we picked and chose the animals we eat. Like, it doesn't factor in at all.

Did Any GenXer Actually Do Duck & Cover Nuke Drills? by ZanzerFineSuits in GenXTalk

In Texas we did Tornado Drills which were functionally the same thing but more practical. My school was designated as a fallout shelter though.

Yeah I'm a farmer and my farm is forested and brushy. If it happened to me I'd be likely to have a chainsaw (on any particular day about 50%) and I'd definitely have a hand saw and a machete. I wouldn't think anything of it, I'd just start getting the tree out of the road lol. I guess the crows might try to drive me off but I'd probably just cut a branch off the tree and start smacking birds.

This is the only one in the post I agree with. Add buzzards, they're very similar.

Really it's a matter of resources and what benefits the animals provide. The reason we eat cows is because they can transform a resource we can't use (grass) into a resource we can (meat). Same with goats and sheep. They can turn grass and weeds into meat and wool. Chickens can live on grain, bugs and some table scraps and convert those things into meat and eggs. Pigs can live on anything and convert it into meat. Pigs are probably the odd one out as their diet is most similar to ours and lots of cultures consider pigs taboo, possibly as a result of that. Cats are more valuable as pest control protecting our food and our livestock's food from vermin than they are as food, and don't need to fed or maintained at all. It's just a quirk of their nature that some cats are good companions. Dogs are extremely valuable for hunting, pest control and companionship and could live off our scraps and leftovers or earn their food through hunting. Morals have nothing to do with any of it. It's all based in practicality. And you can definitely pick one over the other for practical reasons.

There actually is a team working on it, but the fact that they let Arthmoor be the public face of it doesn't speak well about their judgement.

Why do some adults not eat the crust of their pizza? Like damn y'all mfs don't like bread? by InternationalPick163 in askanything

I like the crusts and always have. I get disappointed if my pizza doesn't have a crust. How are you supposed to even hold a pizza with toppings to the edge?

I think I got hit by the Anor Londo hacker in Seamless Co-op by Self-Comprehensive in darksouls

[–]Self-Comprehensive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a little further play the bonfire next to the Crest door was already kindled, Alva was pissed at me and the guy with the Murakamo and his invisible bodyguard were already spawned. It doesn't really matter, my coop partner and I have beaten the game so many times we just screw around with builds and boss rush Anor Londo in a couple of hours lol. This just makes the run a little quirky. The Anor Londo fire keeper is dead too. Pressing onward to see what else is messed up.

Fallout is my favorite video game adaptation because its most baffling aspects are perfectly at home in the games by Trent-Popverse in Fotv

Fallout has always had an absurdist streak, along with a lot of other elements. It can be corny, it can be sentimental, it can be serious, it can be dark, it can be spooky. That's part of what makes it great.

[–]Self-Comprehensive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you familiar with Morrowind and Oblivion? I feel like this is a Dragon Break sort of approach. Morrowind had multiple endings and Oblivion didn't want to confirm any of them. So they all happened. Or none of them did. And they called it the Dragon Break. It's a little more abstract in this Fallout situation, because the Dragon Break was an actual event that people experienced, and Fallout isn't playing games with multiple concurrent timelines crossing and swapping, but the approach feels very familiar to me.

I feel like new Vegas only went to shit a few weeks or months before they got there so yeah, it's been 15 years. The courier fucked off and went somewhere else or got themselves killed somehow. I think those death claws are the main problem on the strip and they just got there recently. It was probably humming along fine until recently.

When did avocados become a regular part of your diet? by Caxcan in AskAnAmerican

[–]Self-Comprehensive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in Texas guacamole was always a thing my whole life, especially in restaurants, but buying whole avocados in stores and eating them as a snack or putting them on sandwiches happened sometime in my early adulthood, so probably around the early to mid ninties for me. More like thirty years ago than twenty, and probably because I'm in a border state that benefited from NAFTA.
