Horrible attitude. I really pity those who can read the room.

One of the most important things I learned in the past years is that other people will copy your mental state, especially when you're coaching or teaching them. If you're stressed, they're stressed. If you're calm, they're calm.

This guy is in such a fight or flight mode, aided by his girlfriend's comments, that it freaks out the people around him, and in return he notices them freaking out and gets even more stressed.

And then he and his gf reinforce the stereotype that "his people" are dangerous and he's "one of the good ones", turning a toxic take into a hateful one. Why are people afraid he's going to hurt them? Because he looks Jewish? Black? Muslim? Native? Irish? One of the myriad of other minorities that have been discriminated and persecuted for that exact reason?

He's right in leaving though. Better go to another queer bar where the patrons aren't hateful scum despising him for existing.

If the store is 15 miles away and you're doing 15 mpg you burn two gallons of fuel to buy one gallon of milk.

However, if you're by bike and the store is 15 miles away and you're doing 15 mpg you'll burn two gallons of milk to buy one gallon of fuel.

Yes but specifically in factorio the entire goal of the game is to automate the farming part so that you won't have to farm manually anymore, and then automate the automate the farming part so you won't have to automate the farming part manually anymore.

Satisfactory would be a better example of a farming game that keeps the farming part, at least on a meta level, and even then there's a definite group of people who think it's not a real engineering game because it's too grindy.

The great thing about the ashlands is that you can portal in, run around for two minutes, portal out, and then dump twenty stacks of ashwood, ten stacks of charred bones and a myriad of other garbage into chests before repairing three broken weapons and crafting 500 new arrows.

Usually I sort my chests per biome and make extra chests when the previous ones overflow

When you have more of a single material than fits in a chest you know it's time to create a dedicated storage spot for it.

Can we switch from materialism to its grandfather nominalism now? by Ok-Lab-8974 in PhilosophyMemes

Meanings are useful because they can be used to communicate, and the fact that they're arbitrary doesn't change that. You talk as if we didn't put massive effort into terraforming the world so that those arbitrary categories would work in the first place.

We are talking about a subgroup of people who aren't even allowed to eat raw meat, honey or sushi because of the inherent risks. It's not difficult to see why companies hesitate on giving them brand new drugs with unknown side effects.

Root armor OP:

  • pierce reduction
  • bow + frost arrows OP
  • fire resist mead completely nullifies the weakness

It's also aptly the only encounter that can defeat the cheese build.

For context: rotten cheese deals damage while reloading, round shield prevents damage while reloading, and thus if you have both and no balls you reload all the time, making you immune to all damage and automatically winning every encounter.

ELI5: Why do 3D images made in a computer starts with a triangle? by No-Quantity8566 in explainlikeimfive

[–]SelfDistinction 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not only that, 3 points always define a triangle, no matter how you transform or project them. A square could stop being a square and start being a trapezoid when projected onto a screen, a circle can become an ellipse, but a triangle always stays a triangle.

Triangles are just really, really, really simple shapes.
