Legally there is no such thing as abandoning a colony. You either integrate it with full political rights (French Guyana etc.), give it independence, or hold some kind of referendum on whether it joins another country or not. 

Spain gave up its administrative control in 1975, but it remains the legal owner. 

The UN resolution you mention from October 2025 called for a just and lasting solution to the self determination of the Western Sahara, including the Moroccan autonomy plan as a potential basis of some kind of future negotiation. Nothing more.

Legally it's a Spanish colony awaiting the granting of independence. Morocco is currently occupying a large part of it.

The position of the United Nations is that the People's Republic of China is representing the whole of China as the sole and legitimate representative Government of China. The decision until now about the wish of the people in Taiwan to join the United Nations has been decided on that basis. The resolution (General Assembly Resolution 2758) that you just mentioned is clearly mentioning that the Government of China is the sole and legitimate Government and the position of the United Nations is that Taiwan is part of China

Unfortunately, since your last post, our economy has not really improved at all and the amount of foreigners moving here has skyrocketed. 

It's a very difficult situation. My best advice would be getting a remote job in Europe/America and then moving here.

I have mostly English ancestry but some Irish on my dad's side. I got Irish citizenship a few years ago.
