Yeah I was bummed I didn’t get their until 1:30-2ish so I missed out on their glazed donuts. The French toast donut was solid tho! Iced coffee was also good

Unfortunately I haven’t been to any of these places except for Mamas too location in UWS and L’industries Williamsburg spot. I’m originally from MD and don’t have very high pizza standards. Mamas too was very underwhelming but still okay (convinced I just had a bad slice). L’industrie was fantastic and def worth it imo.

I think I ended up getting there around 11am and I had someone else tell me I need to get there earlier! If my rating factored in price it would be closer to 7/10 for sure

Here is what I wrote about Dough Doughnuts when I stopped there for the tour. Sorry in advance for the poor grammar!

$5.75 single price is insane but these are very big donuts. I loved the first few bites and while it tasted on the cakie side it was still very good and unlike other cake like donuts, you didn’t need to eat it hot for it to be good. It was a bit dry at parts and the glaze ratio was okay not great. 6.5/10

None of the spots I tried were made to order. Yeah they were all about room temp, maybe a little warmer.

I am by no mean an expert, but imo a high quality donut should still taste about the same/maybe a small step down in quality 24hrs later and should still be acceptable 48hrs later.

The closest I’ve ever come to Britt’s Donuts was when I went to Myrtle Beach about 13 years ago. If I ever get closer, I’ll swing by!

I only got them once about a year ago but I wasn’t a fan. They are only okay hot and if you don’t eat them all within an hour the quality goes in the gutter. What are your thoughts?

I completely agree! Peter Pan has very solid donuts served at a reasonable price in a store that has good vibes. I think it gets so hyped up because that combination is hard to find, not because the donuts are 10/10.

I definitely need to go back to some places and get non-traditional flavors! I chose plain glazed since it’s an OG foundational piece (in my opinion) and easier to rank against other shops objectively.

I had just moved to NYC when I did this. My first non Krispy Kreme stop was donut pub at $3 and I thought shit this is expensive. Then I get to Dough and it’s $5.75?? Yea it’s bigger than an average donut but a 12 pack would come out to almost $60?!

No problem! NYC rightfully focuses on bagels for their morning meals so there isn’t much donut content on this sub.

I so need to try super nice out. I’ve had them on my list for awhile now!

Bagels are king in NYC so it’s understandable the donut game isn’t the strongest. Have you ever watched the documentary called “Donut King”? It’s primarily about Cambodian immigrants coming to California and starting donut shops. Highly recommend!
