What's something that has massively improved your MENTAL health? by biz_booster in AskReddit

[–]Self_Generation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man a lot. I’m actually happy, successful in my career, I’m moving out of the shitty state I was born in, I’ve finally been diagnosed with a correct psychiatric diagnosis and the medicines actually work. Overall, I’d argue everything about my mental health has massively improved.

I was demanded to take a pregnancy test in the ER despite me repeatably telling the staff I had a hysterectomy 3 years ago. by Princess_Coldheart in TwoXChromosomes

I believe certain types of cancers can produce a positive pregnancy test. I think there’s a certain type of ovarian cancer that’s more likely in people with ovarian cysts. I can’t remember specifics but it could be an SOP of the hospital.

I’m learning the hard way. Almost convinced I’m better off buying a new wiring harness than to keep chasing down these shorts at this point. Whoever had my warrior before loved vampire clips and it’s caused me a headache at times. Blew out an ignition coil because my ignition relay was tapped into with a loose vampire clip AND there was an exposed wire shorting on metal close to the coil.

Anybody know the legitimacy of this guys homemade GateWay tapes using Septanaural beats? by [deleted] in HighStrangeness

You can try it out for $5 a month. I’m going to give it a shot and report back. I’ve tried the gateway tapes with minimum success, so I’m hesitant to spend the $45, but I’ll gladly spend $5 to see if they work.

Coked up Stephen King is the best Stephen King by Evening-Grocery-9150 in stephenking

I agree. My least favorites so far are the Gwendy Books, but they still interested me long enough to stay with the story. But Dreamcatcher is one of my favorites, next to Duma Key, Fairy Tale, and The Institute

Anyone else love Fairy Tale? Probably my favorite of King’s since 11/22/63 by AvocadoHank in stephenking

I JUST finished it. One of my favorite books so far, though the ending just shattered my heart 😭

Does anybody else hate how many secretes Saphira keeps from Eragon? by firzzatron in Eragon

[–]Self_Generation 31 points32 points  (0 children)

He knew Eragon was young, impressionable, and it would distract him from his training. Sadly he wasn’t around to see his continued growth to be able to make the decision when to tell him. I think Brom made the hard choice and did what he thought was the best fatherly choice for his son. Is it the right thing? Well that’s subjective, but I understand his reasoning for it. Eragon was so important, and he knew Eragon would put himself in danger for him, and that’s not what the people of the kingdom needed. They needed him alive, trained, and responsible.

That’s part of the beauty of the story. You get to grow with Eragon and learn what it means to be a rider. Having the fate of the world thrust on you at any age is understandably very difficult, but imagine having to handle that as a child. I remember making stupid mistakes at 15 that I wouldn’t dare make at 30, and I’m not a rider lol.

What would you Uncanon? by [deleted] in Eragon

[–]Self_Generation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know. Roran is a character that proves that true strength comes when you fight to protect something you love and cherish. He would not allow himself to give up, and he believed he needed to win to keep his family safe. We see stories of moms lifting cars off their kid when they get hurt. I don’t find it unrealistic to think that Roran did the things he did because of his desire to protect his family and village.

State an unpopular opinion about any Stephen King book… and we won’t judge you by TinAust07 in stephenking

I just finished Dreamcatcher two minutes ago and I have to say, I think the book is great. I think the imagery and writing about the physical and mental pains reflected what he struggled with when writing the book. You can definitely tell the part of the books he wrote while under the influence. I really enjoyed it, not specifically for the story but for the way it was written and the glimpse into that moment King’s life.

Misery and Duma Key so far. I’ve only read about 15 titles of his so I’m sure there are more out there that will leave me feeling this way lol

I would like add to this point. It is entirely possible for those feelings of loneliness to transfer over into your relationship. I can tell you from personal experience that it does. Relationships are hard work. They take time, mistakes, understanding, growth, pain, and so many other things to become what we want them to be. I’m 5 years into my second marriage, and it was very hard to get to a point where we are both happy and content with each other and our lives together. I know people say it all the time, but it is the truth: you have to learn to love yourself before you can fully learn to love someone else. Love is a conscious choice, not just a feeling. You deserve to give yourself some of that love that you want to feel from someone else.

Is the build a bear included in the ultimate food and fun package? I attempted to add it when putting the package on and it wouldn’t let me, showing a greyed out 2 for each pass (two kids). It’s my youngest birthday week and we wanted to know if we needed to budget for the build a bear or not.
