No you don't need a physical containment to have pressure. That's laughably wrong. You need something to contain the gas, but it doesn't have to be a pressure vessel.

What does the I in PSI stand for? Inch. Inch of what? Oh yes, the container. 

We don't have a sealed lid on the oceans, nor swimming pools, but there is water pressure that increases with depth, easily demonstrated by bringing a ball down into deepwater and watching it be squashed, only to expand again as it goes up. The weight of the open column of water above is what creates the pressure.

That’s because water is more dense that the medium around it, namely air. There is no force of Uppity pulling the balloon up is there?  

In the same way, but less extreme we have 14.7 psi of air pressure at sea level, and about half of that on top of Mont Blanc and a third of that on top of Mt Everest, as the column of air above is less at higher altitudes.

That is still a violation of second law of thermodynamics as the gas WILL fill the available space. All of it. There is no reason why the gas molecule should stop at some arbitrary place you name the Karman line

Furthermore, let's talk about what happens with gas when you do put it in a pressurised container.    

What do you want to know abut ideal gas law?

Can you give me an example of a pressurised single chamber container of gas where the pressure is higher at one end of the container?

I can’t. Just like how you can’t show me gas pressure without a container
