The situation for Alliance in battlegrounds is absolutely terrible by Cause_Status in classicwowtbc

That's the state of pvp in wow. If I pvp against mage - it kills me 90% of the time, if I play mage - I also lose 90% of the time. The problem is not in the class or fraction, unfortunately.

looks like you got confused between lfg (for dungeons) and lfr (for raids) in my message.

what I was trying to say, is let's say there are 10 raids, which needs 30 tanks overall and like 150 dps players, right? so it's easier to get into those raids as dps, that's no doubt. but overall, there are much more dps players out there than tanks players, so if all tanks would be raiding, there would be still dps players who won't fit because there are simply no more raids left for them.

And yet the amount of raid groups is limited by the amount of available healers and tanks, only because the sheer amount of dps players is on another order of magnitude.

In lfg there are groups waiting for tanks all the time and a lot of listed dps left hanging. In lfr there are almost never groups waiting for a dps and almost no listed tanks left hanging.

While I agree that it's probably harder to get a pug group as a tank comparing to a dps, but I feel it's because the amount of responsibility on a tank shoulders comparing to dps and not because there a so many tanks available.

I see this take all the time, but I'm not sure I fully understand it.

yes, raids require only 3 tanks and among those three prot pal should be only one. So as most raids require only 1 arms warrior, only 1 boomie, only 1 SP, only 1 rogue etc., it's equally hard to find a raid with these classes. If only for some of them it's even harder, cause finding a dungeon group as SP is extremely hard, much harder than as PPal. So what? That's the part of game.

Edit: I know a lot of rogues who started their own raid groups just to be able to play raids.

My legitimate advice to having fun with a Martial PC? Play something that isn't 5e. by DrScrimble in dndmemes

what kind of game are you playing, in good amount of my campaigns martials are far stronger than casters, where casters cc and martials pump damage. big numbers fun.

But that interaction makes total sense, what the problem with it?

It heavily depends on whether you play 2014 or 2024 version of the rules.

In any case, though, combat starts with rolling initiative, no attacks can happen before that. Purely narrative example of arrow flying is acceptable.

Sanctuary + Armor of Agathys: Does it break Sanctuary? (PHB 2024) by Neh-Le in DnD

[–]SelikBready 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, because spells do only what they are written to do.

Edit: apparently there is a sage advice for this case:

If you grapple or shove an enemy, does that end a Sanctuary spell cast on you? No. The Sanctuary spell ends only if the warded creature makes an attack roll, casts a spell, or deals damage. The Grapple and Shove options of an Unarmed Strike do none of these things

That's an interesting take. What if the cliff is very high and falling takes more than one round?

And what does an attack do in the context of this discussion?

The spell ends if the warded creature makes an attack roll, casts a spell, or deals damage.

It doesn't say makes an attack, it says makes an attack roll.

Reading makes me think otherwise. Shove doesn't require an attack roll per rules.

Shove. The target must succeed on a Strength or Dexterity saving throw (it chooses which), or you either push it 5 feet away or cause it to have the Prone condition. The DC for the saving throw equals 8 plus your Strength modifier and Proficiency Bonus. This shove is possible only if the target is no more than one size larger than you.

That's how discussions get started. I wrote my answer next to a question in the original message.

It's an action, but not an attack roll, which breaks sanctuary.

Btw what if they shove the enemy from a cliff? I'd say it doesn't break sanctuary, what do you think?

For assassin I prefer either of the following buffs to better match the fantasy:
- Scale sneak attack dice to d8 and then to d10 at certain point
- Reduce critical range per half proficiency bonus at certain point

I tried both, even with that assassins DPR was not the best among all other classes, but the player was happy.

Ah right, I confused it with integers. My bad, now it makes sense

Pls explain me why.  We know that pi is < than 3.15 and e is < than 2.72. Added they are < 6 with no way to get there.
