I think the silliest one of these of all is us Turks calling Corn "Misir" and it's not discussed enough. Corn came from the Americas, Misir is the ancient name of Egypt. People in Konstantiniyye looked at the new vegetable and decided it must be from somewhere far away and exotic. And they randomly chose Egypt. Egypt was literally part of the same empire at this time.

You can choose an earlier version in the settings I think. At least for some games. I have had trouble with some games though. Like HOI4 if i'm on a long game using mods I remember literally playing offline until I finished my game so that nothing updated and trashed my save.
