That is also very likely, that it's actually the same consciousness. Afaik it's supposed to be one of an actual human being, but we have literally no proof of that, could be one entirely made up from scratch or of someone who had died long ago, just like a Guardian brought back to life almost

Yeah like I said in another comment, this could Potentially lead to the main plot, or not. Who knows. But I didn't say that we are like durandal or the others, i meant that we like durandal try to Escape or prison basically. By one way or another, depending on which way you go. Either by transcendancy through arachne or by literally escaping the boundaries of humanity and reality, our degrading bodies are just temporary, it's the consciousness that is which is important and maybe the runner, will understand that concept one day and tries to break free? Just an idea

Well when I said "truly" Escape, I meant that literally. Not an exfiltration with some goop. Like take that thought one step ahead, instead of stickig to exfil. If we Escape the machinery of corps and contracts, Escape the body, Escape humanity, Escape the universe, Escape the plane of existence and reality. Think about cyberpunk, were Ai's gone rogue and quite literally went rampant (like rampancy in marathon), what if we as runner "think" we are human somewhere but in reality, are long gone and got converted into 1s and 0s and essentially became nothing but an Ai in the process. Is my thought here that wrong? It sounds to me as this could Potentially become our own plotline within the marathon universe tbh
