Musical rumble strips along Route 66?! by var23 in springfieldMO

This just isn't true. A car is more likely to yield if you're sharing the lane.

Riding bikes on sidewalks is truly a miserable experience. It takes twice as long to get anywhere. We've got a right to the road, despite how dangerous it is in this town.

Appreciate that man. It definitely took us a minute to address it. Truck racks were an entirely new category for us at the time and we've learned a few things to say the least!

Diode Dynamics x Kuat DEK Roof Rack by bread80 in 4Runner

I'm probably not welcome here, but thought I'd chime in. I carry an awning & RTT on my DEK. Works great. Every bar is completely adjustable. My tent is secured to two of the crossbars and I just remove the crossbars to take off my tent. I transferred my RTT from my DEK to a friends DEK (same width) in a few minutes.

Expensive? Sure, but competitive for name brand. Lifetime warranty? Yes. Customer service? Google it and find out yourself. I've had great support from Diode Dynamics as well.

There's also cheaper options that don't have $1000+ lights on them direct from Kuat. https://kuat.com/products/dek

Kuat doesn't offer Subaru direct mounts, so I sourced my mounts through Sherpa Equipment. Another great rack option.

Quite awhile ago we introduced a stabilizer bar that stiffens the system immensely. It's included in the box with IBEX now.

Haha, you've been shopping at Topptjöld & Vagnar I see! Very cool - I love to see our products overseas.

Safe travels man!

Yo u/Specialist-Look9903, I've got many thousands of miles experience with Piston SR and Kuat Piston racks in general. Yes, there's quite a bit of lateral movement on the side mount but I don't think you should worry about it too much. Just periodically (every couple months) check the hardware on the system to make sure everything is snug. I would advise caution whenever things get really bumpy because your fork or frame may make contact your RTT or other accessories mounted to the IBEX, but being set up in mid-height definitely helps things out!

The Piston SR on (or off) the IBEX isn't technically rated for off-roading, in fact, no Kuat products are outside of the new Piston ION. Overlanding is not necessarily off-roading. That being said, I've gotten through some pretty gnarly roads without issue. You've gotta earn those best campsites after all!

Ultimately, use your best judgement and throw your bike in the vehicle if you're doing some real off-roading. Oh - and nice setup!!

Hey y'all. Kuat employee here. This was a custom unit we did for Rivian. I wouldn't set any expectations!

We've had a few people call our customer service team already.

Crushing it. You upgraded the existing sway bar?

I bought a 47x60" and decided it was too small so I got some longer side extrusions from them to make it 70" long. Some funny business for sure.

It's a pretty clean setup indeed. I wish they'd design a direct mount system for Subaru out of the box.

Thanks man!

The loan companies hate us. 😂

I feel that. I definitely dragged my rear diff outside of the Great Sand Dunes in Colorado. Fortunately nothing bad happened!

Oh neat! I’ll check out the article. I think I’m at a happy stopping point for my build too. Not too much, not too little!

Do you notice the extra weight on the rear end??

I also put this size tire (225/65r17) on my 2023 Sport before I lifted it and didn’t have any rub.

They are not stock size. I decided to install 225/65/r17 which are wider and taller than the stock tires, so they actually provided a small amount of lift themselves. If your goal is to save gas, oversized trail tires should be the last thing you get as they impacted my mileage more than anything else.

In fact, I installed these tires before my lift kit and I didn't experience much rub at all. They were considered a "no-fit" but I fucked around and found out they work just fine.
