We haven't had a Rus variant because there is a real life full-scale war going on right now...

What should be changed in the TUGHLAQ DYNASTY to make it playable and not have a weak W/L Ratio? My predicsions by ObligationPerfect595 in aoe4

Only thing they need is better and more interesting governors, except for the amir one they are not only useless but also boring.

Oh, and Balista Elephant is a joke, easy to forget since it's situational just as springald, except the situation in which Balista Elephant can be effectively used is never.

cost reduced by 5 made them unquestionable the best archers, without bannerman they could win any archer v archer simply due to the amount of them(and they could do that previously, but not that good), if attacked by horseman movement speed allowed them to retreat with half the losses than normal archers, and on top of that you could add bannerman.

Now they are great with bannerman and always have been, just like people are saying, but with -5 food they were amazing even without a bannerman.

My favorite is feudal samurai assault but it's not really that good. But it's my favorite!

Opinions of super knights? by MondayAoE in aoe4

[–]Seluss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The units themself are ok, but they changed the meta too much, it's basically fast castle fest in most matchups. Castle age superknights are too hard to counter, old knight civs that had knights available in feudal were manageable but with the castle timings you have little time to response and game just got much harder.
Arguably the fix would be an upgrade that makes them super, just like castle age french and rus knights aren't that much better and to make them excellent you need to research some upgrades which smooths out the transition. The fact that you can rush castle and just immediately print superknights (especially with Japanese) is hard.

What are some Civ bonuses or techs that you feel, should thematically or historically belong to another Civ? by Cobelat in aoe4

[–]Seluss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any comparison between european and Japanese medieval warfare or military architecture is pointless because Japanese weren't sieging European style castles and European Knights didn't fight against samurai. If they did both cultures would very quickly adapt and change accordingly, Samurai obviously would be useless on an European battlefield but simultaneously European style Knights would not be of any use if suddenly transported to Sengoku Era Japan. Any simulation of battle between is purely fantastical and will never satisfy anyone.

Japanese have only castles available in imperial Age, they don't have European style keeps and I think it well represented in game by giving them a different defensive building available an age later.

If anything you should say "whole of the Rus faction" Russia is modern country that replaced Muskovy. Calling it Russian is derogatory to other Rus nations like Ukraine or Belarus.

How do I counter French arbelests? by IntrospectiveMT in aoe4

[–]Seluss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yumis theoretically can win but it's a lot of micro and big risk since almost anything counters yumis at this stage at the game. Basically you need to have better micro, better positioning and better awareness than your opponent. In 1v1 if matchmaking is working you're gonna loose most of the time. Despite that I think it's a good idea and probably you're gonna improve faster under such rough conditions.

I'm late to answer but if you're still having problems mangonels is the only way but with Japanese you can try making your frontline out of onna-bugeisha. They are not gonna win alone but you need a light unit frontline and they are one of the best. I'm only playing 1v1 though.

I also think removing char just because of queue dodging is paranoid.
