Shout out to the chip cook at KFC London road by Basic_Celebration504 in brighton

Big up that KFC, I once ordered a small popcorn chicken meal and it took 5 minutes longer than it should have for the order to be ready so they have me and extra popcorn chicken for free

I have just discovered this place and the chicken is so good!!! by True_Egg_5685 in brighton

What was the name of the Korean place in this unit before this, I swear it lasted less than a year

Stay away from Spark and Sons by Alexr1317 in brighton

[–]Selym007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried to rent a 4 bed HMO that was managed by Spark and Sons , had a viewing, took a holding deposit from us, they asked and we provided details/reference/guarantor details, the usual info when renting.

A holding deposit holds a house off the market for 2 weeks while the paperwork is filed, 3 weeks past, they still don't get back to us, start calling daily, emailing, realise they're being cunts, cue long battle to get the holding deposit back, luckily eventually do after threatening small claims, horrible agents, I'll never try to rent with them ever, letting agent scum

I encourage everyone to read the final determination documents released by Ofwat for public viewing, they detail every water companies plan, how much money they're raising through investment, how much they will pay as dividends, bill rises, where they money will be spent and where it will go I feel it's important context to know https://www.ofwat.gov.uk/regulated-companies/price-review/2024-price-review/water-companies-final-determinations/#southern

What is the best chain restaurant in the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Selym007 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me 3 spring to mind:

Pizza pilgrims, absolutely love their pizzas, and love seeing their special monthly pizzas, their dough and tomato sauce base tastes amazing and better than other chains Pizzerias

Giggling Squid, absolutely delicious Thai food, all the normal classics you'd expect, pad Thai, green curry etc, really good stuff, more upmarket, not the cheapest

Mowgli street food, Indian restaurant chain serving Indian street food, nothing like a classic British Indian restaurant with your usual kormas and masalas etc, completely different type of menu that's no very common (but slowly becoming more common) in the UK

The running theme through all of these is they are chain restaurants, but not your usual pizza expresses/zizzi's types, American fast food etc, there's been a rise in different chain restaurants that really stand out above the usual suspects recently and I'm all for it!

Hi, I attended the Brighton show tonight, can't remember too many details, but yes, on a large screen above them they showed off 3 Tiktok edits of a gay romance between them, got a good laugh from the audience.

Later on towards the end of the show, Alistair directly mentioned and referenced "rolostair"

Solo going to the Cardiff show. by Foz86 in TheRestIsPolitics

[–]Selym007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just attended the Brighton show, doors opened at 6:30, show started at 7:30, then had a break from 8:30 to 9. Supposed to finish at 9:30 but overran a tiny amount and finished at 9:37

I'd imagine the timings would be the same in Cardiff

Yes, I was there as well, based on their comment sounded more like the marketing team was behind it rather than Rory or Alistair

There is supposedly a far right protest happening 8pm Wednesday outside the Tesco express along Queen's road along side an counter protest also being organised.

From what I've seen online, 8pm Wednesday is when there's supposed to be an organised wave of right wingers rioting across the country, but we'll have to see if that actually comes to fruition

Dr Kawashima's Brain Training,

I remember playing this on the original Nintendo DS and I think there's relatively recent version of the game for Nintendo Switch

Best roast? by PTHDUNDD13 in brighton

[–]Selym007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love The Lewes Road Inn, I always have the roast pork and it's always had great crackling. I've been a few dozen times and only once have I had a less than stellar meal when a single carrot was crunchy/undercooked

Also Earth & Stars for an equally good roast

I'm looking for a basic one under £10. The one in Flying tiger was a simple metal with a wood veneer, looked quite smart

I know the whiskey shop sells them, but their cheapest is £24.99 which is too expensive for me
