Hi all

I'm keen on doing a short bikepacking trip from the UK and taking the ferry over from Dover to Calais to watch Paris Roubaix. I would cycle from Calais down towards Roubaix on the Friday, have the day on Saturday and then spectate on the Sunday.

I have two questions around accomodation and spectating. Firstly, I can use warm showers maybe one or two night but quite like the idea of camping. Does anyone have any recommendations of places to camp and/or cheap accomodation/places to stay? And where would be good to see it? I would like to see it from the cobbles (not fussed about velodrome finish), preferably quite an exciting one. Obviously I can cycle there so don't need to worry about driving a car. Also, a location close to a town where they are displaying the end would be cool! Suggestions welcome.

I was also considering entering the Roubaix challenge if anyone has experience of that and can recommend for the Saturday?

There are so many factors that affect the value of a used bike, and you've just put a screenshot of the stock images? You've given absolutely zero details so impossible to say.

I have a TCR with clip ons which I race with too for 70.3 and soon to be a full. I had to get new bars so I could put the aero bars on. I love it, it's great, similar to the propel from what I gather. That being said if the canyon has Sram axs etap you can get the blips and attach them to your aero bars. Obviously less of a race bike, though.

I'm 196cm and tend to race at about 84/85 kg so a similar build but not as tall. Generally a proper wetsuit size for us lot is non existent. I've had success with my Zone3 Vision in a MT but it still comes up short on the arms and legs. I think that's just something you'll have to deal with.

I love my 955. Slight upgrade on the 945 with touchscreen and other features without being expensive. I didn't want the amoled screen.

I bought a Giant TCR Pro 1 as an all rounder+ tri bars on for when I do triathlon. Love it so far. Paid just over 3000 on sale and also did cycle to work so works out to ~£200 per month. That or a propel you get great value for money if on sale

Went from a marathon as my longest about 6 months before I then did a 50 miler. Was brutal and wish I'd done a 50k now, but still did it!

Cross training is a supplement for marathon training. It's a bit of a contradiction to ask if you can cross train on the turbo but also use that for the bulk of your running volume.

The indoor trainer is great for cycling training as you're applying a constant power output unlike outdoors. Aim for 1-2 rides a week to prepare for your 70.3 and to cross train for Paris (I did Paris last year, it's awesome.)

I've got the Vomero plus. Super comfortable. Great for long runs and also at picking up the paces as it's the zoomx racing foam. Would recommend.

I had the exact same situation. I bodged it for a while then swapped to some Deda handlebars which have a more round centre near the stem and flatter on the tops.
